Yes definetly - it lets me shop on the market and therefore saves me a packet! but I do have plenty of friends and family who won`t use one ....silly people.
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.

I mentioned earlier in this thread that both me & my husband use one but one thing I forgot to mention is that when I use one in the supermarket (we don't have a car) it always seems to attract the attention of the security staff who linger at the end of the aisles. This does annoy me! Loads of people have started using their own bags now - are we all going to be seen as potential criminals?

I agree wholeheartedly! I was in a 99p shop yesterday and the security guard followed me all the way around and i'm sure it was due to my trolley! If I was going to shoplift I wouldn't be risking it for 99p........ argh!

When I lived in France they made people leave trollies and even shopping bags by the door. I would be worried my trolley would be stolen.

  • I'd definately use one, but I know I am going to cause most of you to faint:( SORRY, but I live in a high-rise tower block & have my groceries delivered. Use a rucksac other times, but maybe a sack on wheels for my recyclate would be handy. TC x

I've been on one for about 2 years now and I'm only 46. He made me have it  We only live about 5 mins from town so it's quicker to walk than drive, plus there's no parking fees to pay. I'm a wimp y'see and I can't really carry much on my own. I'm so glad that I've seen this thread as my cheeks don't burn with shame so much now :D I've got a sleek black model, don't forget to get one with good wheels - it's all in the wheels according to H, they last longer ;)

Thanks for all the replies. I just found this at Lidl from the 14th April. It's worth a look as Lidl is the nearest shop to my work:D

  • Well I would use one and I have done many years ago when the kids were small. Now Ive got my own car I don't and the shops are not in walking distance for me.
I gave mine away-although I may still have one left.
Now that plastic carriers are going "out" these trollys are certainly in with a chance of a big comeback.
If we all went and got one they would soon be trendy. Regarding the opinions of onlookers(or security guards)I really don't give a stuff!
They can look all they like, they can follow me all they like! Ask them to reach that jar down from the top shelf for you! hahaha
Lots of customers worry about carrying their bags now-I work in a department store and they often voice such concerns. When we all do it though people won't feel thy are being targeted so much.
If I see a really funky trolley I will be a "trolley dolly" and enjoy it!

I use Ikea bags if I need large bags, couldn't consider spending £11.99 on a shopping bag!!! We always had a trolley when I was growing up as we didn't have a car, bike bags aswell for when we did the weekly shop on the bikes.
One day I might be more organised...........
