Now thats just taking looking silly to the extreme! :D And you can't take that to the local shops now can you?...

I just remembered something that might amuse - when I took my 'chic shopper' into town recently I decided I didn't need to take it into a particular shop (it had lots of steps outside) so I used a bicycle lock to attach it to a cycle rack. That got me some strange looks as you can imagine but better than having it nicked!

Did anyone see the report on BBC news this morning? It seems sales of shopping trolleys have gone up 40% this year alone. There are indeed some very trendy ones about. I have a feeling I have one in my loft - must go looking! I do lile the lookof some of them. Might encourage me to walk a bit more!

I often borrow one from work if I buy a lot at lunch time and don't feel silly with it. you can pull or push it.

I bought one for my 80 year old Nan, she won't use it as they are for 'Old People'!!

I have a cloth bag from the Coop and four jute bags from Sainsbury -not that I need them all for shopping but they'll come in handy.

Living on my own, I never do large shopping so one or two of those bags do me just fine. I still have lots of plastic carriers from my wasteful days, and from the occasional time where I've forgotten the cloth bags, and these plastic carriers now are my rubbish liners, shower caps (right sized ones), and fridge bags to keep stuff in there a bit tidy.

I've really gone into green mode in the last year, and I'm hard put to find new areas of consumption where I can make further cuts. My bank balance has also improved a lot, and I was never in debt in the first place. ;)

I love this board. I read it daily even though I post rarely in here.

I'd love to live close enough to the shops to be able to use a trolley, I think they're brilliant!!

I keep threatening to buy one for my friend. She walks to ASDA regularly and would rather carry all her bags than be seen with a shopping trolley.

I've got my Auntie's one in the shed, perhaps I could start getting the bus to the supermarket on my day off just so that I can use it!! :T

Well I have to say that carrying shopping is good exercise, depending on the distance and if the shopping is not inordinately heavy of course. :)
