welcome to our newest wooligan, greengrass:j yellow will be a great highlight colour.

had a bit of an idea today, mioliere thought that it would be nice if each of the wooligans had at least one square in Smoky's blanket, soooo........ I was thinking that if I hang on until I have received everyones squares in the post and keep them all in their respective envelopes(we'll know when we have enough by the running totals) I could then take one square from each package to start Smokys blanket off. That means that everyone one of will have contributed one square to her blanket regardless of when they joined the crew or how many squares they have sent in. Once I have used one from each of us I can then sort out the remaining squares by colour into Smoky's and each of the smokelets (i luv that word!) blankies.

What do you all think,let me know? Please say if you don't agree, I want us all to be happy with the finished article and the only way to do this is by voicing our thoughts.
also, please can you all put a little note saying who the squares are from, my OH thought it might be nice to put them all in a kind of keepsake book to include with the blankets (big softy!) again, let me know waht you think about this?

I think both suggestions are brilliant:D :T :T I joined *too late* for smoky's blanket but would love one of mine to be in it:o Also that way you'd know what colours you had available, so would get the best possible *mix*:D

Have uploaded the piccie now here. The left hand square has one round in pale pink, I don't know why I did that :rotfl: but I figure it wouldn't really notice if it went in a boys balankie. I love that name too:D When I had my second son, my eldest (19 months) wanted to call him *blanket*. He wasn't impressed that we chose another name:rotfl:

Great minds think alike! It had occured to me last night that it would be good if at least one square per person was made up into Smoky's blanket, and I was going to mention it when posting tonight I think it's a lovely idea, as is the note idea - I've posted my squares to you today Lainey, so I'll send a little note for Smoky in with my next batch of squares for the smokelets.

penelope, I tried to pm you me address but your inbox is full.
you also made a good point about the blocking, I'll block any squares that haven't been done, not a problem.
there isn't a closing day really,I'd just asked if folk could start sending me their squares as I have a long weekend off and was going to make a start on sewing up but if you guys could read my last post you'll see that it doesn't really matter now although the sooner we have all the squares in the sooner we can give Smokey and her Smokelets their blankets.
If mioliere & I keep updating the total as often as we can, we'll know to stop knitting as soon we have enough. There's nothing wrong with continuing to knit HTA squares though.....

All squares done and ready for the post but not blocked or pressed as my iron decided to give up the ghost earlier on just as I was about to press...will post mine to-morrow Lainey.

Isn't it nice to know that we can do so much in such a short time, hopefully the blankets will remind Smoky and the Smokelets that there are so many people who are thinking of them and passing on positive vibes.

Unlikely to do any more squares for now as there is still a huge ( with bells on whatever that means in this instance!!) christening shawl to be done for DGD3...her mother swears that I never did one for DGD1 so I have to do 2 in one IYKWIM...I know that I did 2 exactly the same in 2004/5 as there are only 4 days between DGDs 1 & 2...but I felt that if she is satisfied with compensation its not worth a fight!

Hi mioliere/lainey - think you missed my earlier update of the totals, possibly as I only mentioned the latest squares I'd done and not how many I had in total, sorry

Anyhow, I currently have 9 squares - 3 for HTA and 6 for Smoky/smokelets and will get those in the post tomorrow hopefully so you have them by the weekend
