Can anyone help, please. I had a 5.5 year loan with A&L, which was paid for 60months by DD no problems. Then apparently Santander bought A&L, didn't take the 61st payment, but have taken all subsequent payments. This loan ended in april 2010, they have just written to me saying I owe one months money. which is not great but such is life.
But they have put a non payment on my credit record when it is there fault for not taking the DD. AS I said the first I knew of this was when they wrote to me last week, 15 months after the payment was due and 10 months after the loan period ended.
What can I do? Can I force them to remove it?0 -
Edmundson - yes write to them, set out that the DD has always been in place and that their were sufficent funds to cover the DD at all times and that the non payment was an administration error on their part whereby they didn't actually request the DD that month and that you want your credit files updating to remove this late payment.
Santander made loads of mess ups around this time (and are still) and so should be getting used to such letters.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
hello all,
Does anyone know if the criteria for a Halifax overdaft would be the same as a Halifax loan. ?? I applied for an overdraft increase with Halifax 4 months ago and it was declined at the same time I applied for a Halifax loan, this was also declined. However, I have applied again today for a overdraft increase, which has now been approved... If they accepted my overdraft request do you think its likely that a loan request would be accepted also??? The reason I ask this is that Ido not want another credit check on my file if I am not going to be accepted..
Thanks for any information anyone could provide0 -
Hi all
Is it worth paying for the fancy credit reports experian and equifax offer? I applied for a £2 statutory one online with Equifax but they have never given me the means to access it!
Thanks0 -
Hi Madsy11
I would recommend getting your free trial file online with both Experian and Equfax and then if you are interested in your score then pay the £5.95 to get your score, this may help you decide what to do next before you apply for anything else...
BUT I HAVE NEED FOR ADVICE TOO PLEASE....
I have 3 credit cards that I am only just paying over the minimum on and not getting very far. After buying my house 12 months ago and having various searches and slowly repairing my score it is coming up as 'good' with both agencies but I am nervous to apply for a loan to clear my cards. I have a small loan of £75 per month ending in June, should I wait until then? Will that loan ending be a great booster on my score or not really? lastly I have my car insurance due next month, doesn't that mean more searches?? and am I best to try now instead?
so confusing whats the best thing to do....0 -

Hi everyone. i haven't posted for ages but have been a long time lurker and have had some great tips so thank you! My situation is this: We applied for a mortgage via Halifax (our bank) after we were told we had been pre approved via their 'mini credit check'. We realise we were probably naive about what this actually meant and we ended up with a declined application where they couldn't tell us why (fair enough) and that they couldn't proceed any further. The application was done over the phone with their mortgage advisor filling in our details but they sent forms out in the post to confirm what they had put on them. We received this paperwork after the application was declined but when we looked at it, the girl had put in some incorrect info e.g. that we already had 2 mortgages outstanding and that our credit card bill was £2000 per month when that was the full balance due to be paid on completion and always paid in full previously. Would this incorrect information have had anything to do with them declining - I mean would they have really thought we had 2 mortgages if that's what she put? We both have no probs (all accounts up to date for years) with our credit reports-they show everything in green. We both have a credit card (paid in full every month). I know there are lots of reason why lenders will decline but could this have anything to do with it?
The main reason I'm asking is because I want to take out a phone contract in the next couple of months and the fact that that search is showing along with the search from the mortgage compnay we ended up going with I believe might affect that?
If they have credit checked us on the information put on the form, then I believe they have credit checked us on the basis of wrong information - would that mean we can ask them to remove the credit check from the cra's and if so, would this 'better the chances of getting a phone contract'?
Apologies for waffling - hope it makes sense and that soneone might be able to help.
thanks.0 -

PROPERTY VALUATION
Deed date: 24/05/2002
Price paid: £116,000
Property type: Terrace
Tenure: Freehold
New Build: No
Source acknowledgement: Property Valuation data provided by the Land Registry.
This material was last updated 27 May 2009. Covers period 01 Apr 2000 to 31 Mar 2009.
We've never owned a house nor had cause to value one- so what's this all about? I've not seen this on previous reports.
I'm concerned as to what kind of impact this rogue item is having.
No impact whatsoever.
For some reason the same information appeared relating to a property I rented a while ago.
It made interesting reading though.0 -

Even if it was yours it would be statute barred after 6 years from the last date of payment or recorded acknowledgement....0 -
Hi
I checked my credit report in December and I realised my current account address is wrong.
I raised this issue with Equifax send them a proof (recent statement) but they reply to me:
..." Thank you for your recent query ref no ..... . In order to resolve this query we have engaged the company in question to examine their data. The process can take up to 28 days, but as soon as we have an update we will let you know"
28 days later another email from Equifax:
"As Equifax hasn't received a response to your query just yet, we've removed this account from your credit report until we get a replay from the company."
and few days later last one
"The company is obliged to respond to a dispute that we raised within 21 days. As they not responded to us we have removed the information. This will remain removed until such a time as above company respond to us"
4 months later still no response from Lloyds. I phoned Lloyds customer dept but they said there was no any question reg my account from Equifax and they can't help me.
I ask Equifax if they can provide me any proof so I can show Llloyds - they said no because of security procedure.
According to Equifax my current account doesn't exist (which is not true) and this badly affect my credit scoring I can't even get a mobile phone contract because of this. Both other agencies (Experian, Callcredit) updated their record with no problem.
Is there anything I can do in this situation ???
Thanks
