Just applied to Experian and Equifax in order to take advantage of the free trial.
I've been told that using the details I have provided that they cannot verify my identity.
they've asked me to provide;0 -
Just had a credit alert from Equifax which shows a change to my current account status as follows :
Previous Information .(Trans not recvd this month)
New Information 0(Up to Date)
What does that mean ? Is it the same as the old grey U, not updated or is it something more sinister ? I can't find anything on their site and why did I not get an alert last month with a reversed status ?0 -
I've had the same alert as you on my Santander account about a week ago:
New Information 0(Up to Date)
Previous Information .(Trans not recvd this month)
Having checked my archived alerts, I found a similar one for April 2010 on a credit card account:
New Information S(Settled)
Previous Information .(Trans not recvd this month)
Looking at my last credit report, I can see the credit card shows as being up to date right up to when it was settled. So I think this is just that the bank failed to update the credit reference agency that month, and the following month they added the data for both months. In both cases I got no alert the previous month, same as you.0 -

Very interesting posts and replies.
I believe you are very lucky to be able to obtain reports from the various credit reference agencies.
I have recently returned to live and retire in the UK after many years of living in Turkey.
I have applied to the main credit reference agencies for a credit report on myself after having been turned down for car finance.
None of them are able to help because their online applications do not accept my previous address.
Can anyone give me a contact phone number for the various agencies at normal call rates.
My problem appears to be that I have not lived in Britain for the past 10 years. I am on the electoral roll, do have a UK bank account, am registered with the utility companies for bill payments etc.
Any advice would be most welcome.0 -
i was wondering why i could not get credit anywhere i checked experian and it said my rating was fair, however i just checked equifax and discovered a default in my file from O2 for a mobile phone that was cancelled in feb 2010 for the grand sum of £10 outstanding!!!!!!! which i knew nothing about owing them as they never billed me for or tried to take direct debit..............
this has now been settled but it is killing my credit rating is there anything i can do about it as i feel they are bang out of order as i have had no communication from them about it at all and had no knowledge about it which meant i never had the chance to resolve the matter prior to this situation arising!!!!!!!
Do i have any recourse can i dispute the default? can i have it removed? can i take legal action against O2 for screwing my life up?
I just want my credit rating back can anyone give me some advice please.:(0 -

Experian 0115 935 6600
Equifax 01274 759759
Call Credit 0113 244 1555
I have not called the numbers to verify though
CPP ID Protection costs £5.99 per month (cheaper than Credit Expert) and provides unlimited access to your Experian credit file - they only require your current address - I use the service and got it cheaper than £5.99 pm http://www.cpp.co.uk/identity-protection/ :cool:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Hi i'm new to this site and hoping that someone can please help me!
i'm nearly 22 and 6 months ago i applied for finance for a car and was rejected. I then spoke to my bank who wouldnt give me a loan either. I have grown up with parents who said never to get a credit card so i never had one. Ive had phone contracts and store cards though. I then got a credit card with my bank and have had that for nearly 6 months and am on the electoral roll. I pay my credit card off everytime i use it. I was rejected for a credit card with barclays and refused finance on a sofa recently thats when i checked my credit history on experian which said my credit is awful. I dont understand why as ive always paid everything off on time. I have no late payments on anything. I am desperate to get a new car before mine dies. But have no idea to how to get my credit rating up anymore? can anyone suggest anything i can do?
thanks:)0 -
hi ! hope someone can help me with this, I fear I have just been ripped off. I signed up to site called creditscorematters.com a site which does the same thing as credit extra only 4 times the price , i signed up with the intention of cancelling before the trial ended , which i did through a little message window on the site . i never gave it another thought until a week or so later my bank account went overdrawn because of two £19.95 charges for subscription to creditscorematters and also a site called rewardsnow which i did not even sign up to ! I have tried to get a refund and am still trying , i wonder if anyone knows who i can make an official complaint to about all this ? and be warned .... stay away from this site its a total con. Thanks guys hope someone can help im furious:mad:0

This question has probably been asked a few times but, I'm a newbie
I moved to Ireland last year and wondered whether my terrible credit rating from the UK would follow me? Or, do I get a fresh start?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated0
