Avoid AA Please .. They are completly messy organisation . Used to be good but now a days shddy , We have joint membership last year and this year they put price up. On our request they offered discount and took money .But they canceled membership after taking money.
AFTER CALLING WHEN WE NEED AA THEY SAID ,HUMAN ERROR AND REFUNDED MONEY BUT LEFT US suffering ..
point consider before buying AA breakdown:
* PHONE (MAY U NEED TO CALL AND WAIT AND CALL AND WAIT,may be 10 or more time to get aa customer service)
* Unmanged system, One agent saying something else other saying something else
* Will take your money will store ur card and will keep taking money but imagine You dont have membership with them when u need them.
* Rude customer support , help less complaint department. culture of ignoring customers is AA core ploicy
So avoid puting urself in mess when u need them ......0 -

I am absolutely incensed at the automatic decision of the AA to increase my level of cover by adding relay (a cost of 57.54) which btw I never requested and increasing the charge for roadside to 52.50 to a total membership renewal cost of £110.04 less 25% discount (well thanks very much, considering the roadside charge that they have quoted is almost double the amount currently advertised on their website). I have just noticed that they have taken 82.54 from my account against this ludicrous quote that I have just discovered, and I am guessing that this is approximately 3x what I paid 12 months ago.
It's an absolute scandal and imo companies should not be allowed to abuse the trust of their customers in this way, I'm going to trading standards or anyone else who'll listen and if that doesn't work perhaps we should set up a facebook campaign or something.0 -
The AA have now just renewed our memebership even though we called and cancelled it. They told us over the phone it was cancelled and would not be rebilled.
Also this is amazing - their letters are always dated 2 weeks before you get them in the post. This is a scam and needs to be dealt with asap. They time it so you have less than 24 hours to react to their action when you should have 14 days.
However i cancelled way before that anyway and they still have gone ahead and rebilled against my wishes.
What can be done about them?0 -

Received our renewal yesterday, the 14th, the letter was dated the 3rd.
£145 as opposed to just over £100 online.

It comes up in a new thread at least once a week, so why not just offer a fair renewal price upfront, rather than load the price for loyal customers?0 -
I used AA last 'year' [ie obtained year before]....they had an 'offer' going, but I had to take personal membership, as my car are were/are way too old.
I noted on the paperwork, that renewal was considered 'automatic'....so made a note to contact and cancel in good time.....
received the letter last Oct [for a Nov renewal] the sum wanted was nearly double what I had paid originally. [well over £110]...
phoned to cancel, nice AA lady did a bit of squirming...and was prepared to give renewal with full discount..ie same price as originally paid....
plus..could see no reason why I shouldn't have car membership instead of more expensive personal cover...apparently the car's age isn't THAT so important as they first made out...
However...as a matter of principle [why could I not have got that discount on the renewal notice? Why also change the 'rules' to get a sale?]..I have gone through my insurer..it was cheaper anyway....even get Euro cover which I definitely don't/wont need...at a price that I normally would expect to pay for simple recovery..all I want....
still, bless the AA..called out twice..the patrols fitted replacement parts [which I happened to have in the boot] free, effectively...cheaper than paying a garage....saved me doing the job as well....what is a couple of hours labour at the average garage these days???No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
I renewed my AA last year at a discount rate and they sent the renewal for this year with the paperwork for this years cover (ie when I renewed last year) saying my payment would be taken automatically. Needless to say I rang them and cancelled the auto renewal. The bloke I spoke to tried his hardest to stop me cancelling the auto renewal telling me it would cost more to renew next year but we all know that's is bogus.Nothing to see here, move along.0
