Well, so much for my good intentions.. I spent £50 yesterday on drinks and going out to the cinema. Gonna have to pay attention now to the budget..

Have just negotiated Virgin Media down from £45.95 to £34.45 for tv/phone/broadband package. Still feel like it could be cheaper though.... maybe i will call back another day and see what they say..

Just checked my bank account and they are charging me £168 in fees for some payments they honoured when i went over my overdraft limit this month. I bought some thing in Argos for £9.99 which they have charged me £35 for. ANd actually Argos took the amount twice- i only bought one thing but they took £9.99 twice and i got charged £35 twice so that was £80 for one bloody toilet seat! (which i what i bought!) But i threw away my receipt so now can't proove i only got one aaargh! They are also charging me £35 for £1.46 paid to Tesco and £35 for £7.80 to Tesco!!

I don't know what to do. I can't afford the fees. I am already £78.42 overdrawn and my limit is £250 so now I have no money and no way to pay! And I still have my Barclaycard bill to pay!!!!

Actually just checked my statement and Argos refunded £9.99 but still getting charged £35 for it and it was their fault! AAAARrgghh! Don't know what to do.

:( I feell totally alone. like everything i try goes wrong and i end up taking two steps backwards. I don't know how to go forwards, i don't know how to make my boyfriend understand how bad it's got and i need help because he doesn't help he just gives me a loan which makes things worse and gives me something else to worry about. i drink too much and right now all i wanna do is cry, and drink the red wine in the kitchen. point proved
  • Oh laura, i just finished reading your thread and you started off so well so please don't give up hope! i know it can be really hard at times and you can feel totally alone and helpless but you're not on your own and there is help out there! sit your boyf down and explain that you don't need the money you need the support. as for on here, you started off well and then you found yourself in trouble again, so lets start afresh. do another soa and start a new spending diary. even start a new thread and we'll take it from there. there are lots of fab people on here who'll help no doubt. do you keep spending on the cards that you're trying to pay off?
anyway, post back hun, and we'll see what we can do!

Feeling better. Boyf has given me a loan (sigh) to cover charges and we have agreed that i will set up a standing order to start paying him back, and have introduced a weekly meeting where i will update him on my expenditure (No more frivolous payments for me!) and we will also keep an eye on our joint account finances, something we have also been a little lax with! First meeting tomorrow! :)

Also gonna swap some money from Barclaycard to HSBC as it has a lower rate, just a couple of hundred quid but it's a step forward. And gonna start making a 'payment a day' towards my overdraft to start paying that off!
