catch in icici account- the icici hisave account does pay 5.4 % interest but there is a catch. normally if you transfer money between your accounts with the same bank , it is instantaneous. but with icici it takes three days make that 6 days both ways and u have lost about a week of interest on your money. on the other hand compare it with alliance and leicester- if u have a current account and savings account with a & l then money transfers are instantaneous meaning u get 6 additional days interest. so folks, is icici really the best buy ? lets know your views[/I][/COLOR]0

on the 14 of june, martine wrote the following:
"This is a provisional note on ICICI – I’m still making a few more, you may choose
to hold off acting until roughly 22 June when I should have finished all my queries.
I will include details in the Money Tip Email."
SO WHERE ARE THE DETAILS EH MARTIN?0 -
Sorry Carl. Good call.

Hi there
I have 100,000 to invest need monthly income from it any advice where to put to get best result.0 -
Beware - banks are sneakingly putting down their interest rates on their top paying savings accounts, though there's not been any reduction in the bank rate (yet!)
Today's email from Martin quoted The AA incorrectly - the rates went down 0.2% on June 24th - so now internet 5.11% and phone 5.06%.
This account managed by Birmingham Midshires, which has already reduced its rates. Also Alliance & Leicester down on 13 June, Yorkshire down 27 June.
This seems to be a trend, and several of my accounts have had interest rate reductions and I've had no notice - having been warned by Sunday newspaper I had to spend time checking through them all to see which had reduced rates in last couple of weeks.0 -
Thanks to STINGYSCOT for your comments on the lowering interest rates,
I have a Alliance and Leicester a/c that has just dropped it's rate and the interest will not go in until first of September. I am going to close the A/C but dont know if I am best to leave it until I get the interest or to close it now.
Can someone advise please0 -
Why are you going to close it? Although A&L have dropped their interest rate it is still one of the best out there. You will really struggle to find anything significantly better.0
