Yes as they will have put a tag on when you asked to start taking their service. Call up and tell them you are no longer wanting to take the ADSL service and that you want any tags removing from the line or a MAC Code to prove you are ok to migrate to another provider.
and i have just phoned them to ask what the incompatability is and they said its either aol left a tag or the fact that the line is with them and not bt anymore...and some ppl like tiscali,aol etc dont like a non bt line...they didnt say it was them at all.0 -
If AOL have left a tag on (and to be honest it has been known to happen) then Sky would not have been able to provision ADSL against the line fullstop. You could Cll AOL and demand a MAC, they may have stuffed up and left a tag on. If the issue is due to the line not being with BT anymore then a lot of people would have the same problem.

I think it would be worth you posting on here with your problems and see what they have to say.
Its a forum dedicated to sky users and I believe even a few people who work for sky actually post on there but don't quote me on that.
Hopefully that will help speed things up and get your broadband.
I'm on sky by the way and I really cant complain apart from when they sent me my router after they activated my line leaving me without broadband for 3 days.

Thanks for all your help,i still didnt have bb this morning 2 weeks past the activation date...i rang sky and said i want to cancel ive had enough of waiting..the person made a few enquires and promised to call back before she goes home..she said there was a tag on the line and faulty wiring on the exchange..anyway she called back at 5pm and said hopefully i might be connected by tuesday. i noticed at about 10pm tonight i didnt have a dail tone on my landline,so i checked my router and yayyy i have bb and then the dial tone came back. it just shows you if you threaten to canel things move a lot faster.
and i have a great speed of 6 mbps,compared with aol i was lucky if i got 1.0 -
Also shows the issue was probably at the exchange, sometimes threatening to cancel is the only way to force people to push things through properly. Drives us nuts sometimes as all we want to do is get things working but a lot of companies have procedures in place that really do not help.0
