phoned up to see if they had any in stock (cos i had ordered one) and they said they only had 100 in stock and over 2000 orders (think they are trying to pull a fast one) so I just told him to cancel my order, he said most peoples orders will be automatically cancelled and they will get an email confirmation shortly, so if anyone wants to cancel there order might be wise to wait a bit as they are going to do it anyway.

For what its worth I asked if my card details will be stored and they said no.. still worried, Will be very very careful before I buy from a online store now, this just had a familiar name for some reason so I thought it would be ok, hopefully no harm done!.

Whatever anyone's feelings about this site, it would be virtual commercial suicide for them to hold credit card details, as this would put them in direct contravention with the merchant agreement they hold with their card processor.

Unless the site is a complete con - i.e. solely there to collect c/c details (which seems very unlikely) - once they have accepted a payment, any failure to deliver or refund will cost them dearly with their c/c processor.

Anyone who has an order accepted, and debited from their card, should make a direct complaint to the card processor in the event of non-delivery. This will cause a considerable amount of pain to the company.

Additionally, although I understand that the site is based in the C.I. , there is still the small legal matter of offer and acceptance - i.e. they've made an offer, and if they choose to accept it by taking a c/c payment, they accept it.

So, in the event of non-delivery, they can't simply jusy make a refund to put things right. Anyone wishing to get really wound up could, in theory, sue them for the difference between their offer price and the true cost of obtaining all the films from different sources.

Maybe, if we are let down, it might be worth getting together to agree a plan for doing this........

Normally I wouldn't bother to suggest this, and just accept that an honest mistake has occurred. However, in this case, in seems that they appear to be accepting any order they can, well after the time they have realised a mistake has been made, so maybe a point should be made?

So far I cannot see if anyone else has had the £1.47 taken from their account as well as the confirmation e-mail.

Although no confirmatory email has been received, the £1.47 has been taken from my CC.

Suppose we'll just have to see what happens over the next few days .

Just received the following email. Lets see how long it takes them to do the refund :(. PS. The spelling mistakes are theirs ;).

    "Dear .....

We are contacting you regarding your recent order number
. Due to a massive surge in sales over the weekend we have sold in excess of 2000 units of the 50 FILMS ON 25 DISCS (25 CASES)
DVDD5001CP
title. As our stock of the item is just over 100 we have unfortunetely been unable to process the remaining orders. We have attmepted to source the title from alternative suppliers however they are also out of stock.

To resolve the matter a full refund has been processed. This will show on your card balance in 2-5 days depending on the bank used.

We apologise that we have been unable to supply the title in this case.

We look forward to dealing with you again.

    Regards.

I have received a different E-Mail this morning to Carnet,s one.

    Mine says

"You will receive notification whn order is despatched, or if the order has been back ordered and how long it is likely to come back in stock".

Don't fully understand second part of statement, but do you think it looks like I might receive it, or am I likely to get another saying they can't get any more stock. As happened with the benches and DC07 that I ordered.

I hope it's my turn to be lucky - Hope you are too!!!!

Don't feel bad redfox - we are all grown ups with minds of our own! ;)

Received the same e-mail, replied to them I was so disappointed that maybe they could send me a discount voucher for my 'next' purchase to help me recover.
    Nothing ventured etc.

Generous to the last, I got a 5% discount voucher for next order. Better than nothing.
