  • My DS is 18 so if he doesn't like mint now, I don't think he ever will!

I've got a tube of the herbal stuff so am waiting for a reaction (either that or find the tube still unused after a while!)

He's just discovered that new gum that isn't mint flavoured so uses that after meals (?).

I'm not a great fan of strong mint flavours myself but can use the milder flavoured pastes, I'd prefer another flavour though and wonder why the manufacturers just don't make them?

BTW he's also know for his 'aroma' he's 'Africa man' - God help me if Lynx ever stop this fragrance!

He says not ... at least very little sign of any.

BTW sal he's 18 now and over the last couple of years he really has become more adventurous in his tastes, same has happened to DS1 who used to be a complete nightmare with food. I'd say it's not too late for change, although I realise it doesn't happen for everyone.

    Would you believe it!
I'm putting together a soap bag for an impending trip to Poland for my darling son and I asked him about toothpaste, telling him of the choices listed here.
He shrugged his shoulders and said he'd take the one in the bathroom (Aquafresh) as he'd got used to the taste and it was OK!!!!
I stared open mouthed and then gathered my senses and said that from now on I wouldn't take not liking the toothpaste as an excuse!
I give up(but on the bright side, it saves me money)!

Boys - who'd have 'em! :rotfl:

Although I do think this 'getting used to it' has a lot to do with it. In the absence of anything else, DS2 just got on with whatever toothpaste was to hand and acclimatised himself.

  • Poundland have a Colgate Fresh Confidence toothpaste at the moment in "Extreme Red". I'm not sure what it is supposed to taste of - my boyfriend thinks it's like Deep Heat Muscle Rub and it does smell like it! A good alternative for non-mint lovers. A bargain too at 2 for £1.

I've thank you, but just the thought of cleaning my teeth with Deep Heat is making me feel ill ... :rotfl:

  • I think I've cracked what it is - think it's clove flavour - like oil of cloves

Hmmmm, that I MIGHT be able to cope with without puking. Not sure DS2 would have liked it. Really, he'd have wanted it tomato sauce flavour, in his fussy days. Or pasta flavour.

There's money to be made out there ... I'm sure of it! :rotfl:

What do you mean by 'longer lasting'? How much you get in the tube? Or how long the minty freshness lasts?

Colgate Total or Crest Complete are pretty good toothpastes, but pretty much anything you like the taste of is oK so long as it has a decent level of fluoride in it.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
