Oh yes - but even worse is when you forget it's in there, and saw away with the bread knife, thinking it's really crusty, and in fact you've butchered your beautiful non-stick paddle!! It still works fine, but took me a while to get over!
  • Okay just had a couple of examples of my most hated - people who insist on walking in groups of 2 or 3 spread across the pavement and then give you dirty looks when you have the audacity to walk the opposite way to wards them, causing them to have to move over (doesnt always work for me as I am only little and I foten walk in the road) but drives me mad!

Also hate cyclists on pavements, especially come at speed around tight corners!

Pooky I second my hatred of people who stop in stupid places (top or bototm of escalators, inside doors, outside doors, in the middle of the pavement!) and those that are oblivious to al lothers!

People with bad manners is a common one and is one of mine - people on cycles coming behind you on a country lane who ring their bell for you to move over and dont even say thank you when you do!

    Grrrrrr!!!!

My son is autistic and often freaks out while were out if things dont go his way. If you ever had to deal with a child who you cant communicate with then you wouldnt make it worse for people by staring at them. You cant always tell if a child is disabled and even if they're not, i still think it unfair to stare at them and make the parents feel worse.

Im really sorry to hear that Katinkka, my own experiences of having a brother who had Aspergers and other learning difficulties on top is one of the major reasons why I couldnt cope with having kids of my own, as I know how badly things can go wrong and how difficult it can be to live with.

My brother appears fine now, but obviously still is different, he learns in a different way, processes information in a different way, and talks differently to others in his peer group, which has singled him out in the past from some pretty unfair comments - from teachers (saying that there was nothing wrong with him, he is just slow/bad) and other kids. It took years of hard work and extra home schooling on top of regular school just to keep him on top of school work, and to help him to overcome the most obvious parts of his conditions, and it was the extra care and attention that allowed him, as he got older, to appear 'normal' in most ways to the outside world.

He's now 17 and is tall, handsome, and at college studying drama, and he grew up to have strong morals and ideals - fortunately he can live a 'normal' life and people just think he is different and not wierd now. He's travelled all over the world too, which has done wonders for his confidence, spending a year in an english school in Dubai, and several month long trips to other countries. He's is probably more balanced and pleasant than a lot of those walking round the street today - he's the one that hands in a £10 note found in Asda to customer services, and offers to walk to a supermarket for our grandparents and do them some shopping. And I wouldnt change him for the world!

I remember when my Brother used to freak out for no reason and people would look and stare, so my mum quickly got into the habit of doing shopping etc when she could, without taking him, so to prevent a scene. I can usually tell the difference between a random child shouting 'I want' and thowing themselves on the floor for drama and those who genuniely have problems and cant help it - but I prefer now just to run off!! :o It still freaks me out now, remembering how difficult his childhood was, he couldnt even sit-up on his own at 1yrs old, and was barely crawling at 2 and a half.

It goes someway to explaining why I dont want kids too I guess :o Seeing the unfortunate reality of how hard it was for my mum and the reality of my friends 'normal' children, ive decided its not something I want to do.

How about drivers who PARK on pavements?!!! As if they have the right to park just where they want to stop. I'm talking residential streets, not pick-up and drop-off, but the people for whom the next street is too far to park and walk home, they actually believe they have the right to block the pavement outside their house! Forcing pedestrians (including a number I've seen with white sticks), into the road. I'm going to make up some mock flyers for these cars, but I think on-the-spot fines would be more appropriate for these selfish, ignorant people.
  • Oooo Loadsabob th#at narks me too! All along my street, on a very nice private estate for context, vans and cars are parked right along - when I bring my laptop home from work I put it in a wheely trolly bag thing as it is too heavy for me to carry, and I constantly have to walk in the road with it because of the number of cars! Goodness knows that I will do with a pram, will be a nightmare!

For me it has to be bad manners and kids who push infront of you when you are looking at something, mind you, it is not just kids, some adults are even ruder! People who almost sit on you or lean right across you to get something eg a birthday card whilst you are looking at them and they cannot be bothered to wait or walk around you

Another is people who just abandon their shopping trolleys in the middle of supermarket aisles and them get shirty because you move them so you can get past.

Ooh yes, I hate those two as well. When I'm in my local shopping centre, there are ALWAYS groups of people wandering aimlessly and getting in my way when I know exactly where I need to go and want to get there as quickly as possible! And the ones who come out of a shop and stop RIGHT THERE to faff around finding something in their bag or whatever.

The escalator thing is so dangerous! I always say 'don't stop there, KEEP MOVING' in a really loud voice!

No spatial awareness some people, sigh!

Gosh I wish that happened here, it would be an improvement on cyclists in country paths who come up behind you, and don't ring their bell. Then you get a shock as they whosh up into your hearing zone, you nearly break your neck looking to see what this sudden noise is...then leap into a hedge to avoid getting hit....then the bu**er doesn't say sorry, thank you or even swear at you...basically they ignore you. I find that this is common behaviour by men, women, adults & kids. I don't think I have heard a single bicycle bell in the year and a half I've been over here (N.I.).

Another bugbear of mine is nice forest parks which have only one map, and that map doesn't have all the paths marked on it. I got seriously lost recently - chose a circular route from the map that would take about an hour max, and started at 7.00 pm. There were no markers, I got disorientated thanks to the path dividing but not marked as such on the map, and paths with no signs to say they were dead ends or where they took you to. Got back to the car at 11.00 pm having spent over an hour in the woods in the dark on my own. It was terrifying.
