  • Thanks for this thread, just got my 39.49 TV/BB/Phone bill reduced to £30.99 and free local evening and weekend calls thrown in! £8.50 a month for a phone call. That's over £100 quid a year, just wish I'd done it sooner. Apparently they have existing customer offers, but you need to be on a talk plan to get them, so I signed up to one!
    Thanks everyone!!!!!!
  • yeah thanks all we made the call and negociated free line rental for 12 months and upgraded Bband from 2-3meg for 12 months

I just spoke to NTL who told me what an excellent deal I'm on (£21.50 for tv and phone and £17.99 for broadband) and I should be very grateful to them. So there.
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.
  • Did you call with figures to quote telling them you had a better offer?

Try again in a day or so and hopefully you will get a different cs person icon12.gif

I am a ntl customer,I saw a NTL advert for new customers for £10-50 line rental and free calls after 6pm to 01 & 02 numbers, so i rang them up and asked if I agreed to another 12mth contract could I also have the free calls. I got told as I already had a discount for broadband £10/mth 1meg I could only have it for 3mths (but ring back in 3mths and get it put back on said the lovely Welsh lass) which I intend to do.....So free calls after 6p & all weekend.
Use Uswitch to get prises and call back they will give you a better deal........

Currently have reduced-price 1MB broadband (£9.99) for one year after phoning up a few months ago, plus Family pack and phone line - total £39.99 per month.

I notice that Family Pack is on offer at half-price for 6 months to existing customers:
    http://www.home.ntl.com/page/existing_fampackoffer

I followed continue, put in my postcode and house number and it notes that "Sorry - you appear to be an existing user so this offer is not available to you." I am not sure whether this refers to me being an existing customer overall (and their online system is faulty as this deal is available to existing customers) or that I already have family pack.

Has anyone experience of getting the price lower than £40 for the above services (1MB/321 phone line/Family pack) or experience of having more than one discounts applied (ie to broadband and tv).

    Many thanks

  • Hi,

This is my first attempt so bear with me. I phoned NTL yesterday with ammunition that I found here. I quoted someone getting a package for a digital tv, broadband computer access and phone at £30. A very pleasant girl told me that they no longer had that deal but they had one for £32.50 which included cheaper mobile phone calls and free phone calls after 6pm and weekends. I asked her what i was actually paying just now and it was £47! I accepted her deal which is going to save me at least £17 a month plus all the calls that i usually have to pay for!

  • Lookout for scams whenever you update to broadband. Last year we were caught. An icon appeared on the screen which we couldn't get rid of until we pressed the X, unfortunately for us everytime we got rid of it we were actually being connected to a pornagraphic phone number based in Italy. NTL were very unhelpful and made us pay the £350 bill which we got by just getting rid of this icon. To stop it reacurring we pay £1.50 a month so that if 089 numbers or foreign phone numbers appear NTL won't connect them. Worth £1.50!

  • I'm about to cut my NTL tv package in favour of Freeview with a HD but that will hoik up my phone charges (currently 15 quid a month for all landlines free up to an hour) I don't mind switching to a BT line but I want/need free landline calls.... Any ideas?
