Big problems in printing wirelessly from my laptop
Comments
-
do all the computers have the same network name?0
-
techexpert, thank you for your help.
Answer to your question, I think so.
I have just run Network Setup Wizard on this laptop, saved the settings to a flash drive, run it on desktop B, and called it the default name on both - MSHOME.
Is that what you mean by network name?
Or do you mean the SSID or SSDI or whatever-it-is-name - the name of my wireless network...?
Apologies once again for being dense!0 -
I have just tried, out of interest, to ping my laptop from desktop B - and it worked.
So desktop B can see laptop C, but not the other way around.
Not sure if this is useful or not.0 -
I would run the network setup wizard on PC B and make sure it's added to the network then try the same on the laptop and hopefully you will then be able to see it0
-
Geewhiz, I have run the Network Setup Wizard on my laptop and then desktop B; and then the other way around.
Still nothing in My Network Places, and still unable to ping.0 -
You need the same workgroup name. Right click My Computer/Properties/Computer Name and change workgroup to WORKGROUP, in place of HOME or MSHOME for each pc0

totalsolutions, thank you for your reply.
I did that, restarted both. But still no change.0 -
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

In ZA, I've gone into Custom, and ticked Allow Outgoing Ping (ICMP Echo) and also Allow Other Outgoing ICMP but I still cannot ping desktop B.
But then I can't ping it even with ZA shut down, so maybe ZA is not part of the problem?0 -
does the labtop have any form of firewall?0
