They were really snooty and said i would ahve to apply for a different role again if i wanted to change. I told em to shove it, phoned my old boss and asked for my old job back
Its a shame coss the prospects in a much bigger company are better. But im not willing to do something i hate for 3 years to get a better paid job doing something i hate.
I agree with you so much on the statement I have highlighted in red. Enjoying your life is so much more important than money and future prospects in a job. You only have the one chance at this life and so many people get their prioroties so, so wrong.
I believe you made the right decision:)0 -
hope you dont mind me asking but what is your old job? is it totally different fields?0

Hi everyone this is my first post and im excited to join this thread!
My parther and i are getting married this year, and its taken us a while to get the money together for it - 130 people!!!!
However we have it all organised and the money saved up now, so our attention turns to buying a house!
Right now we have approxamitely £4000 saved up towards a deposit and are saving £600 a month. I know its a bit cheeky but hoping to get some money as wedding gifts to go towards the total too!
So the challenge begins here!Getting ready to buy our home - £20,000 saved0 -

Good luck!I personally don't think that's cheeky as money is probably going to be more useful to you than some of the presents you might be given instead. Maybe I'm just cheeky too?!

head_in_clouds - congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. When DH and I got married 2 years ago we saved up for it, took 18 months, and we asked for money as we had everything we needed but really wanted new sofas, so that's what we asked contributions for.
It's very sensible to save for a wedding, or anything for that matter, as you don't want to spend the first months/years of married life in debt.

A projector and speakers wouldn't be a very high priority I'd have thought. But each to their own! I don't really 'get' gadgets. Hope they weren't too expensive...
They were a really big priority to me, I already had all the other gear and there will be a cinema room in the house so the projector just finishes it off. Its one of my key motivators to keep plugging away with the saving - this month £1550 went into savings, over 75% of my take home.0 -

Thanks for the reassurance i was thinking of doing a small wedding list because i know that some of my older relatives would want to give a 'real' gift lol! But at least it can be things we need for a new house!Getting ready to buy our home - £20,000 saved0 -

:T
Thanks for the congratulations, it has taken us two years to save up all the money for the wedding, paying off around £3000 in credit card debt alongside, so we are really proud of ourselves! And it means that we are in the saving mindset so after the wedding we will can just carry on towards saving for the deposit.
