    Helloooooooo

I haven't been on here in ages! Didn't even do my 2014 end-of-year update! So here it is:

In December I saved £1,151, bringing my 2015 grand total to £10,716 and my overall grand total to £84,839. YAY.

I then had a very expensive January (dental work and paying the balance of a holiday), so my total for the month is -£931  - which brings my overall total savings to £83,908. :o Strangely, the same thing happened last January!

I'm hoping for a better February lol. Roll on payday!!!!

Yeah, I've gone a little sheepish savings wise too, as this year has been expensive so far for me with various things. Currently flirting with the overdraft :o

At the moment I'm using the tsb current accounts that pay 5% but not sure where to go next. You do have to be organised about money transfers with the current accounts. It would be nice to have one simple account with a good interest rate.

I agree. I find it really annoying having multiple accounts as I feel I have to check them to make sure the money is still there.:o I would love to have it all in one place.

I saved £1,417 this month :D which brings my 2015 total to £486 (thanks to that minus figure in January lol) and my overall savings total to £85,325. I'm FINALLY through the £85,000 barrier, whoop!!!!

  • I also don't see why you're complaining about your parents. It's their money, not yours, they can do what they like with it.

The people I know that had help from their parents were mostly getting their own money back. They were paying rent for living at home while working full time, parents were putting most of the money in a savings account, and then handed the money over when the person moved out. They then used it to kick-start their house deposit savings.

    Wow, harsh words...

All I said is that others who are getting hand outs should be grateful because we're not all getting them and I get jumped on. I mentioned a personal situation revealing family finances (i.e. it's available) and I get doubly criticised too.

I was only trying to help by letting others know my situation. I didn't realise how critical people were here as I thought we were all in the same boat in regards to saving for a deposit.

Hi everyone, our savings have been put on hold for one month only.

OH's car is needing costly repairs and we are trying to decide whether to scrap it and go carless or sell it to his Dad. But it is his decision....
