Hope I'm OK to join.... I've bought my last treat today and now every penny is going into saving for a house deposit so I'll keep up with this thread and hopefully be continually reminded of what I'm saving for.
I have no idea how I'm going to ever get on the property ladder as a single person... but then there have been other times I've said I'll never be able to do something and I've done it, so I'll just crack on with saving and see I guess!!!OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -

where theres a will theres away, altho i have found that no treats is a bad thing because your more likely to stray that way, so we tend to have £50 of treats a month (most is chinese)
still no updates from me it is coming thorents due on fri so i'll know after that, saying that oh is suppose to be paid weekly and hasn't been paid since the 4th and i don't think we'll get it all on fri anyway, it's a family business tho and we will get it eventually (if we insisted we'd get it now) i ahve suggested several times they set up a dd but they prefer it this way (mainly so that can do this) come fri they'll owe is £900 so if we get it all there will def be £400 in the savings

Welcome to the gang!
It may seem daunting, but anything can happen! 3 years ago i was in the same situation as you, single and saving for a deposit.
2 years ago i met my girlfriend and now we have twice the saving power and we are in the process of reserving a new build house that will be finished at the end of the year. Barratt homes give a 5% gift towards your deposit so that helpsMortgage Free 22/03/17

Welcome littlestar1981!!! I agree with quintwins, you need to allow yourself the odd treat, make sure it's something you really want (i.e. prioritise) and it will keep you motivated! :TGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
