I have spreadsheets too - I'm more than a little obsessed
I have them open on my PC or laptop constantly... just in case anything changes, you see :rotfl:
I love seeing the numbers change and the totals go up!
Another spreadsheet obsessive here! So much so that I had to force myself to have a spreadsheet clear out recently as I don't need them all!
This thread is exactly what I am after but haven't read all 111 pages  - does the first post ever get updated by the original poster with names and targets or anything??
I don't even have a target as I can't save a regular amount due to living alone and having all the bills to pay so basically put away whatever I can when the car is not taking all my money! See my paltry current total in my sigWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -

I am going to start saving as from today. If I am honest I am not left with much each month but as I can see from past posts this is not a problem. I know it will take time but I feel if I keep coming on here everyday it will keep me motivated!
Big well done to everyone :T
Spookily familiar; just want to add my thoughts as this thread is full of wonderful positivity :T :T and just what I needed!!Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
Hi vl - I'm only new to the thread so not sure if the OP is still around. We're not come up with a proper target yet but we've a mini one in mind for August (fingers crossed).
Just added to my total - but not out of my own pocket :j
Quidco are doing £50 cashback for a Virgin ISA into which you need to pay £75 per month. So I've just signed up to that£50 of free money, that'll do nicely, thanks very much!!
Good Luck with your savings! Must be tough on your own to do it but you seem determined  so just watch that "paltry" amount get bigger!!
PS - your paltry amount is way bigger than my paltry amount0 -
I was wondering if any of you brilliant people could give me some tips? I've already started taking lunch to work - and been quite astounded by how much I've saved. So any more tips would be brilliant!
Thanks so much!
Something I have started to do is save every odd little penny or pound saved, e.g. I budget for £100 food per month and if it comes to £95 I put the odd £5 into savings, and save with individual items that are on offer - I just save the difference. I also swim and go to Zumba once a week; if I miss these for any reason the money gets saved. Every little helps :TWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -

Many thanks! Yes, I am determined and have worked out that due to retirement ages ever increasing I will have plenty of time to pay off a mortgage once I finally get it!
I am so relieved to have found some people on this board that are madly trying to get into debt like myselfWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -

Sign me up.
I'm single, I have my own house (on a mortgage, so most of my savings went on that 3 years ago).
I currently have £10,000 in my ISA, which for me in my position is very good how I got it back up, now that overtime has just stopped due to government cutbacks, the basic pay reality (the last one was about 4 years ago!!) has now kicked in, so don't have much after paying bills, but will review this next month.
I ain't saving for anything in particular as I'm not the sort of person to go for a bigger house or make improvements to it as I'm happy with I got. But at the moment I'm putting away £30 a month toward my sister's wedding in Cuba next year.
After that I will be saving for a holiday to America, I have seen a brochure - Holidays for single travelers and the one I really want is the Golden West to visit LA, Vegas, Grand Canyon. I could go now, but I don't want to touch the money in the ISA it's basically an emergency fund.
Also at the moment I'm paying extra towards my mortgage, paying an extra £144 to make it up to £400, I'm undecided whether to put the over-payment into savings instead though, as rates have not risen in the last 12 months I would have had £1728.
I think I have ranted a bit too much now, sorry.0
