All time lows for the pound against the Euro at the moment. If interest rates are dropped the £ will just drop further.
Shows what the world thinks of our economy at the moment......tighten those belts the ride has just begun.
The pound is dropping against nearly everything but people have been concentrating on the pound v dollar thinking we're doing really well....
Czech Koruna has moved from 40 to 33 in about 5 months, Polish zloty has strengthened an awful lot too.
It's not much if you're only worried about a few extra pints on holiday, but business is finding it very hard.0 -
Maybe the slide of the £ ain't over yet?0

I have just booked in my Euros for a house purchase I am making in 18 months time. The advice I have received is that the euro is set to strengthen further (helped by comments made by the ECB recently) and sterling set to drop against most currencies due to predicted intrest rate cuts over the next few months.
If it doesn't then I've just made a very expensive mistake!:eek:0 -

Well ............ having left my crystal ball at home, I can't really foresee the future ;-)
The € is currently at a twelve month low against the sterling, maybe your money would be better in the bank for the moment???0 -
Hi...dont you mean at a high against the £ ?....therefore a good time to buy? Ian0

Of course if you believe the exchange rate is going to get substantially worse then buy now
If you think it's going to get better or the drop in the Pound against the Euro won't be much then the best thing to do is to put the money in a high interest account and use that to buy Euro at a later date
In any case you have to work out how much you are going to lose in changing cash for cash as no-one does it for nothing and then compare it against the rate withdrawing your Euro abroad with your Nationwide ATM card will get you0 -
thanks...have heard about Nationwide card...whats it all about?? Ian0
