Could be an interesting day today, what with both the BoE and ECB announcing their rate decisions...

Need to push on to 1.2 in the next two weeks before I go away!

And expect Trichet to come out to say something to make it worse.

    Their signalling has been rubbish

I have spoken to them about that and they said just to give them a ring and let them know when you are on holiday.

On there website it just says a 1.75% transaction fee. Which I would be ok with if they are using the visa exchange rate.

Are you saying there are other fees or hidden extras I should be weary off? Thanks

    Matt

I also always told them before going abroad. They still stopped the card anyway. Their customer service is abysmal and didn't seem to take any notice. Good luck if you are relying on them!

I think it is just a 1.75% fee but, of course, the Nationwide were always much better - and still are despite starting to charge a (lower) fee outside of europe.

Sheesh, can't believe how it has tailed off since this time yesterday.

No chance of 1.2 before I go away now...

    It's climbed to 1.17420 :j

It seems to me that everytime it nearly gets to 1.20, the BOE say or do something to hammer it back down again.

It's obviously to do with CE. I hope they're doing the right thing, after all, the BOE never saw the ression coming, so they probably won't see when we are coming out of it.

    Trading at 1.164.

Pound falls ahead of today's inflation report. Analysts say BoE actions amount to covertly keeping the pound down.

My prediction is that it will be 1.14 by the weekend. But then I'm always wrong.
