I have been offered 1.13 @ Firstchoice for £3k of euros, I am off on Holiday on Monday, do you think its worth waiting a couple more days or am I just being greedy?

I know I can get 1.14 from Thomas Exchange but the firstchoice rate is a walk in rate.

I'd be interested in your thoughts

    Thanks

The FC near us used to price match if you asked. They won't offer it, you have to go in and say Marks and Spencers are offering X today and then they will match it.

You could certainly try that if Markies have a better rate.

I have always found the NW Debit Card rate to be at least a few points better than local bureaux de change/banks' cash exchange rates whenever I have used it abroad.
This might be a bit basic, but I hope someone can advise.
Going to Italy in a couple of weeks time, don't live near one of the exchange bureau's in London, so the 1.14 rate doesn't count for me.

On MSE today it is showing that PO is offering a rate of 1.123/pound with no charge for deliveries above £350.00 .

But when you look at the Visa rate for today it is 1.16/pound.

Does this mean if I use the Nationwide Visa debit card to take cash out when I get to the airport in Italy, I would get the 1.16 rate for the cash withdrawal at the airport?

I know this is basic, but I've always got cash in the UK before I go, but it seems that I might be better off waiting 'till I get to Italy if I'm reading all the info correctly.

Or am I reading this wrong and the 1.16 rate would just be for purchases made using the card in Italy, not for a cash withdrawal once I get to Italy?

Yep, the visa rate is for atm withdrawals too. if the machine asks if you want to withdrawal im GBP eqUivelent, select no as this will give a worse rate. Always take the euro rate. The same goes for shops and restaurant too. for example 'duty free' at Spanish airports always offer euro/gbp rates.
