    Hi Mrs_pepperpot

If it is any consolation, although I normally work full time I am off this week and I have no little ones to worry about.

So I really should hang my head in shame at the state of my house normally :o .

I just think that whatever we manage to do each day we ALL deserve :T

A quick whizz around the kitchen today before I went to my vol job.
I did see you have heating Mudbath. Hugs to everyone. Im working the next 4 days so will do what I can and try and keep up with the board.

Got a load of washing in and going to do a quick tidy.
  • Mrs Pepperpot - Please don't feel lame. You are doing great. I have had an exceptional day today, believe me I am not usually this good. I only started Flying this week. However I have a time constraint I need to get my house straight because my mum is coming to live with us. Also I am at home all day and the kids are all at school. I do not work outside the home.

Remember take pride in what you do achieve not what you don't

Mrs PP my work comes in bursts so I can go a month or so with no work and even then I often don't do it all. This week I have only manged to fly on Monday as I worked parttime Tuesday and Wednesday. With 3 kids and more work tomorrow it just won't get done. See if you can start doing dalies - for me I do them before the school run:
    DW empty
    WM empty
    Put away day before's laundry
    Wash up
    pack lunches
    S&S kitchen and toilets/sinks.

Right I'm shattered. Need to get DS3 ready for bed and wash up from dinner as I have a friend coming for a glass of wine in 45 minutes - I think the living room will be candle lit then the dust won't show.

Right - so what have I achieved? (Apart from a phone call from best friend up the road who called to say she knew - in a business capacity - the Inspector who died and as far as she was concerned he was an OK down to earth chap)

And that's all I'm going to do tonight. Something is done and that's what matters. I need to get onto the community newsletter and think about some dinner (see newbies - we old hands don't do it all, all the time either)

  • Thanks everyone - what a lovely friendly lot! I am so determined to change my lifetime's shabby housework skills - it inspires me to see what some of you get through in a day!

Nothing ever takes as long as I think it's going to - just find it hard to get off the sofa! :o

    Thanks again - encouragement appreciated.
Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...

    Evening ladies!

I have gardened this morning, managed Level 3 in the bathroom, and done three loads of washing - towels in at the moment. Also zipped downtown to buy a few bits, and have now collapsed... Still have the washing up to do.

Sharon_1970 - That's fantastic!! Well done! You'll find that it is much, much easier and quicker in future weeks, as there won't be the decluttering and real deep cleaning to do.

Mrs Pepperpot - I've been flying for the past two years, and was only working a couple of mornings a week. I've just returned to teaching, doing far more days, and I'm struggling to get the routine right at the moment. I try to do Level One at least, and more (like today) when I have a little more time and energy. One top tip, is to do just 15 minutes in the room of the day - put the timer on, and you'll be amazed how much you'll do. I find I can even get a job done while waiting for tea or coffee to brew! I'm not promising to hoover downstairs before breakfast every day though...

(((JillD))) - It's terrifically hard work looking after little ones - and the sad thing today is that we're doing it without the extended family help that say our grandmothers had. Try and find some time for yourself.

PS Is Michelle around today? Hope that you're okay, and not too shattered.

And now there's a fourth. News in these 'ere parts all over the radio this evening is that an Inspector from Dorset was found in Poole Bay this morning. He boarded the Barfleur ferry just before midnight last night as a foot passenger and must have fallen off somehow not long after it set sail - no-one saw him go...

OMG it just feels like I am living in a nightmare at the moment. How terrible, just seen it on the BBC website. :( If this carries on there will be no police left by the end of the year.
