I was horrified at my mum. She was talking about my brother and how great he is at housework. "He'll even put a wash on" says mum.   !!!!!!????His GF has a better paid job than him and works much longer hours. He's a chef and brings home food with him, so he doesnt have to cook at home.
I cant tell you how many men I have shouted at who have told me that they are 'babysitting' Funnily, no one has said it to me recently :rotfl: Grrrrr0 -
Emptypurse . Well I would just ask him if he knew what was happening so you could 'help' to organise it.
Mudbath we think that you are doing a wonderful job with only one hand
Have to say i agree with everyone regarding OH/DH babysitting. I would like to go out once even it is for only an hour or so and not know thatI will have to
a) change DD nappy
b) get them some food organised
c) Tidy up after DH as he will NEVER do it himself. He has now progressed to actually taken the plate into the kitchen but never clears the mess or put it in the dishwasher. My DS does though and he is only 4January Grocery 11/3740 -

Hi EmptyPurse,
Sorry no recommendations for a place to stay (we managed to find the only h*ll hole in a really posh area :rotfl: ) BUT there are guided tours round the Collosseum and the Palatine (sp probably) although you can get in and look around yourself if was nice that the guides were really enthusiastic and (since it is DH who loves history) even I found it interestingWe went just before easter last year and at the time they had just found this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7104330.stm it is now open by the looks of it...
You can get guided walks but we ended up being late for one but managed to stumble accross lots of the "sights";) The Spanish Steps are cool too but wherever you go there will be people trying to sell you stuff or just generally get money out of you...
We didn't go to the Vatican but I think if you want to visit there you need to go early...
If you are going for sc accom my top tip would be take loo roll with you - we spent half a day looking for a shop that sold it:rotfl:
The Piazza's are relaxing during the day and buzzing at night...
Have a great time - it is a stunning place!0 -
Rain, rain, go away ... and stop making my washing wet. 2 loads almost dried ..... sigh ... now hanging in the utility room, for a second go!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: @ all the man bashing!
They are certainly a law unto themselves but I do have to say DH was quite handy round the house although he NEVER cleaned the toilet! Think in part it was to do with the fact that he worked shifts and so was home some days when I was at work and had to look after the kids. Some days he worked like a demon round here but other days he would whizz off up to his mum's with the kids and leave everything!
Have to say though that none of them see the obvious, always ask you where things are that they discarded when the last finished using things and think we all have x ray vision/can mind read what/where other people are!
Bet he's having an easy life now sat up there on his cloud playing Quo all day and watching us run round like loons  Yikes that means he can also see the utter chaos and iron mountain!!!!
Right well wish me luck we are about to go to MIL's for tea :wave:Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
I am going to do HHI.
BTW I am going to try and sort out money situation now as well. I have no idea what we spend on groceries per month, anyone got any ideas how I can work this out?May Grocery Challenge £254.16/£3200 -
Nickysnackynoo - your categorising of men cleaning made me smile, I have a good friend married to a 3. He is obsessed and tidies things away before she finishes with them, e.g washing up while she's cooking. He even asked her to have her shower so that he could clean it after.
Mine is a 2, although he doesn't usually see what needs doing for himself, I have to drop hints. He then would say "I did that the other day", I've probably done the same job twice since he did it. He does sometimes make a big deal about it too.
If they can make half the mess, they should help clean it too.
Oops, starting to rant, sorrrrrrrrrry.:rotfl: :rotfl:0
