I went out with my mother a while back (we do it often but this is a singular occasion I am talking about) and someone asked about my children blah blah *yawn* and asked who was baby sitting.. I said noone.. and they looked horrified.. so they asked where they were, I said at home in bed.. and noone is baby sitting... heeheehee.. half an hour later they asked where hubby was .. I said at home.. so they said oh he is babysitting then.. I said no only his children are there.. I don't babysit when he goes to work I stay at home and look after the children which is exactly what he is doing.
Oddly they never spoke to me again lol
I am most stroppy about it.
While I am at home on a weekend and during the school holidays I have a house full of children... usually no fewer than 7 as only DS1 goes out alone.. hubby was home alone with 5. Granted he bathed them and cooked dinner and got them ready for school on Monday and took them.. BUT.. I do that AND the washing and the cleaning and the tidying and the flinging and the pot washing and the ironing and the everything else and I just feel a lot betrayed that he has done noone of those things.. ooh.. I lie.. he ironed half a dozen of his work shirts. he never tidied or wiped or vacuumed a thing.. he let the children trash the front room and their bedrooms and the kitchen was appalling.. there isn't any excuse and woe betide him if it is the same when I come back from Bon Jovi in June!!!!!!!!
This isn't a one sided thing I actively encouraged him to go to London to do a museum circuit with a workmate and have tried to get him to do allsorts and he won't go!
I decide to do something and do it.. he fluffs about and 'thinks' about it and 'ponders' on it and ends up not doing anything because he is too late!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Just had to phone the police! Heard some shouting, looked out my window and 2 blokes were kicking lumps out each other:eek: I wouldnt usually have bothered but they didnt look very evenly matched. Another thing which is annoying which men (in my own experience anyway) say if they actually do anything around the house "I've done the hoovering for you" or "I've done the washing up for you". I remember my dad saying that to my mum once and she really went mad. As she said she's not the only one who walks on the carpets or eats from the dishes!:rotfl: Now what does my own DH do around the house "for me"? Thinks, thinks - oh yes, nothing. I think he would come out in a rash if he did housework - he's a real MCP who is of the opinion that as he goes out to work the housework is mine, all mine. I don't get holidays or weekends off :mad:0

They turned up really quickly! The guys had disappeared from my view by that time though. Luckily i'm 3 floors up so not like i was that close to the action;)The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Just sneaking on here quickly as life is so utterly dull at work today. I'd far rather be at home decluttering, cleaning and baking!
I'm currently pondering how best to tackle my darling boyfriend about his post-Easter holiday plans. We've been talking about going to Rome together for a few days straight after Easter (our first break as a couple!!!). However, it's very difficult for him to book leave in advance due to undermanning. I really don't want to add to his pressure by nagging him about the holiday but I just need to know a)whether it's happening and b)whether I need to book flights, hotels etc. He's not a regular traveller, bless him, and I don't think he realises how difficult it will be to get anything decent (and affordable) at such short notice <sighs> My mother did warn me that managing men is an Art that takes a lifetime to perfect....
BTW, has anyone here been to Rome? Any tips on romantic places to stay, things to do etc?0 -
the number of people who've said to me this past week how amazing DH is for helping out whilst my arm is in plaster...it drives me mad. he's amazing for getting them to school, doing lunch boxes, feeding them, bathing them, helping with homework and putting to bed. funny how i'm doing it one handed this week and has anyone told me how amazing I am...have they *$%*. and another thing (who got me started)...granted he did all that but the house got totally trashed in the meantime and who's having to sort that out now? oh, I wonder.... {mudbath goes to calm down}0

But Mudbath.. we should be eternally grateful.. they go to work and provide us with a bit of peace and quiet away from them.. they put money in the bank for us to spend and don't they just like to remind us?!
Doesn't it amuse you though when you use their wages to pay the bills/mortgage/food shop etc.. and they then say why do we want some money in our purse because they work for it and we spend it all!!!!?????? !!!!!!??!! No dear I paid YOUR bills.... gggrrrrrr Or they always have money for a magazine/plants/car parts/junk and we have to account for every penny and some!!! And if something comes up.. eg.. my stepdad was offered a car the other week and complained because my mother couldn't produce £400 in a snap!!! they already have 4 cars!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
