  • SSL Rhubarb will die back when it turns cold in Autumn and reappear about now. The forced (pink sweet) rhubarb you get by forcing - covering the plant to keep out the light so that the shoots grow long and thinish thinking they are underground still and searching for the light. Mine already have some leaves on them as I am much further south than you - I think gardens are probably a month ahead of yours here.

Off to bed now as I need to be up and organised to get DS2 to the college for a technology day tomorrow.

Thanks Dusty. I planted it a couple of years ago but it disappeared completely last year. I was quite disappointed. I had such visions of being a gardening goddess when I moved here...

tylersbabe - It's usually better to have a good declutter before serious cleaning, so if you have a room that needs decluttering (the study???) spend 15 minute blocks of time doing that. It's amazing how much you can achieve in such a short time. :)

can I just say (sorry skintscotslass) I have fallen off the weight loss wagon BIGTIME. So I need to make a public declaration.

I am setting myself a new challenge. Lose 17 lbs in 10 weeks. So:
by my birthday on May 17th I will be 11 stone 13.5
And you can all quote me on it. I am fed up of getting fed up with myself so ENOUGH. It stops here, I am going to eat sensibly, keep up the exercise I already do (have felt like skipping it lately), walk to school both ends of the day as much as poss - usually end up driving in the afternoon for some reason. Not going to nick DH's crisps, not going eat out or eat takeaways more than once a week (yes yes I know not OS but survival with the kids at the mo), not going to gobble a whole pack of biccies in one sitting.

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! Shall we schedule a HHE tomorrow?

    • [strike]39 fling boogie time, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter [/strike]
    • [strike]Clear the top of a bedside cupboard/chest of drawers or shelf[/strike]
I have also cleared all (well apart from our bedding) the washing... and the only ironing (sorry for swearing lil_me!) left is on the airer :D *although I am now pulling stuff out of TD and putting on hanger - will try with more things but mum never ironed - so naturally I am polar opposite :o

Didn't quite manage to find all the carpet - but found more of it!!! yay! Hopefully tomorrow night I will be able to finish rehoming things in there - it is getting there... although (here goes my excuse) I lost 1.45pm - 6.30pm today, had to go collect my car from DH's work and then take dd1 to the dentist (ds and dd2 were spectators today  ) dd2 was over-tired and was utterly devastated that she didn't get to see the dentist - she was poorly - doctor/dentist all the same when you are 3! ;)

So yay's for all those who acheived what they wanted today, (hugs) for all those who feel in need and fingers crossed the weather stays calmer now...

ok lo back asleep now (clever cookie woke up to go to the toilet - silly mum didn't leave the light on in there - she can't reach the switch:rolleyes: )

juliejim - I hope someone comes to sort your heating today - no fun at this time of year.

    lil_me - the links for CV's make me smile - ty :D

nicki - you can utterly tell you are grinning from ear to ear - I wanted to post a well done earlier as you made me smile - but I had banned myself from posting until I had finshed the bedroom :rotfl:

    ok time for sleep ;)

    Morning All

So glad I didn't strip our bed yesterday (I always make DH make it again and he was away last night:D) as DS got in my bed at 3.30 this morning and has now wet the bed! My own fault I suppose for not sending him back to his own bed. So as soon as DD gets up - who has also sneaked into our bed, but she has the sense to sneak into DH's side so I don't know she's there - I'll strip the bed. That'll get some of yesterday's list done anyway!

Hope everyone has a good day today

I'm off to have a shower - I got up early and put the fire on so it was warm for when the kids got up.
