My sister got a new laptop and I cannot get it connected to the internet. I took the computer to my parents house and it can connect to their wireless network. How can I get the laptop to connect in my sisters house wired?

Who is your sister's internet service provider (ISP)? She may need to install a settings program (Tesco, AOL and others provide CDs with the settings on them), otherwise phone them and ask them what settings she needs to add into Internet Options and they should talk her through it.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

DO NOT USE THE CD's
Get the settings and set it up manual.
Please give us more details.
Who is the ISP?
Are you using a Router or modem?
Does the router have wireless?
Are you using XP or VISTA0 -

Her ISP is Primus, same as Mum and Dads. I phoned them and although they will talk to me about her account, the male said he did not know how to do it.

I am a bit rusty on modems.
Are we talking Dialup or ADSL?
Have you connected the device to the laptop?
Or was it already inside the laptop?
EDIT:
Primus site is just about useless for information/support.
Found some ADSL advice:

OK, if it's Primus, then has she installed the modem? Once she has done that, she should go to Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections and Settings and enter her Primus username and password in there, then click OK.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

I presume ADSL as the male who I spoke to at Primus said that a telephone number was not needed.
I did connect the device, a Speedtouch, to the laptop as it is an external device.0 -
What is the Speedtouch device.
Have a look at the last link I posted above.
I would guess just enter user name and password supplied by Primus.0 -
Hi Joe - now when you double click on the Speedtouch Cnnection shortcut on the desktop, you should be prompted for username and password, enter them and it should connect.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
