Slice open to make a pocket, fill with soft garlic cheese (about £1 a shot in my local - about a quarter needed for this), wrap with smoked Italian ham if available (if not smoked streaky bacon will do, bake in medium oven for about 20 mins. Serve with anything - new potatos and green salad goes down well here. Easy peasy but tastes really good.

I was going to suggest a version of that, but add chopped mushrooms into the pocket as well & wrap in bacon again.
Serve on buttery mash with green beans.

I go with the KISS principle. (Keep It Simple Stupid).
therefore - pan fry them in a little oil (and butter if you use it). when cooked remove and leave to rest. I assume you have the side dishes ready.
now add either a good glassful of wine or chicken stock to the frying pan.
a little pepper and salt if you wish. bring to boil and reduce a bit.
now you can either serve it 'as is' or add a little cream to the sauce. Chuck in a few halved green grapes and you can call it 'Chicken Veronique'! but thats optional!

I like the sound of this, simple but sounds scrumptious, Morrisons tomorrow for a couple of breasts (mmm) and some cream.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

  • Do you have any cream-cheese in the fridge?

n.b. there is no such thing as "left-over" wine! It's just vino you haven't got round to drinking yet. Get your best glasses out, girl.

Your "good" table-cloth, candles, smoochy music, some pretty flowers on the table, your best dinner-service, a special pudding equals romance. Put your best underwear on plus your prettiest frock and you won't have to cross your fingers..
