  • I got an e-mail from Richer sounds saying it is £9.95 also (was gonna post it here too, but got beaten to it).

The normal shop price is £39.95, but you need to be a VIP member to get it at this price, which just means you pop into the shop and get signed up (it's free).

I would check stock before you go to the shop though and try and reserve it over the phone if they have one.

I work for Sainsburys and none of the stores in the local area, Torbay, have any stock or are getting any.

This has led to a lot of disgruntled customers

Dont know why this offer was put in the email and advertised on this website when there were such limited stocks.
You can't con an honest man!

Apart from one unconfirmed sighting in Harrogate it seems no one has managed to buy a single Freeview box for a tenner from Sainsbury's this week. Shame.

Not such a good plug for Sainsbury's either who have a lot of disappointed callers and visitors.

Richmond Sainsbury's cheapest Freeview box today was the Alba at £17.99. Unsurprisingly there was a plentiful supply...

Same in Sainsbury's Edinburgh Craigleith this afternoon - went there for bits & pieces so thought might as well check. Went home and ordered 2 for spare rooms tvs from Dixons THROUGH NECTAR so got sainsbury's points. They were £9.99 each with £4.95 p&p but saved me any more faffing about, fuel, etc so felt p&p worth it for that - especially as I'm disabled and had already been round Asda, Matalan, & Gyle shopping centre so was knackered for lots of shoppings - many bargains of course
:( Struggling too much wears a body out

at Richer Sounds too, it's a Bush DFTA1001 apparently, available in-store only! I think you have to sign up to their Newsletter and usually take a copy of email in (or give yr email address to them in-store and they check your registered) and then you get a VIP Member Price. Well worth registering it if you've got a store nearby, they have lots of really good bits at good prices regularly.:j

  • If you sign up to richer sounds VIP email list you can get one for a tenner in store -its a Bush DFTA 1001 which plugs directly into the scart socket so it should be able to "hide" behind a wall mounted LCD
  • I've got one of these Digilogic boxes sitting on my shelf. I bought it from Argos for 14.99 6 months ago. It's pretty poor quality equipment and I ditched it after a couple of days use. If they have all sold out and you are really desperate to get one then I suggest that you start looking in your local charity shops in a couple of weeks time. That's where mine is going! P.S. you may see some left out for the dustmen or in a nearby skip.
  • I went to my local Sainsburys store (a large one) and when I asked about the offer, they told me that it was a hoax and no such offer exists!
  • just notice that Moneysavers are still hunting for the Sainsbury's £10 Freeview box, don't waste time & money any more, unless you want disappointments.

on 12 Mar 08 eraly morning, I've been to the Fallowfield store [ in Manchester ], there was None ! only lots of the Alba Freeview boxes at £17.99.

furthermore, the staff at the customer services knew nothing of the offer !!!
