Called into my Chester branch who had no knowledge of this offer. They rang around and got the same answers. Pity, it sounds a good offer.0

Just tried to locate these boxes from stores in Devon and Somerset, but they are not available yet. Some staff knew about them coming but otheres were unaware. The ones which knew did say they expected them in fairly shortly. Just keep ringing. Keep up the good work Martin0

Now, now, let's be nice, there's no need for it!What a duff thread
What amazes me from this thread is people sounding as if they are going out of their way to visit more than their normal Sainsbury's. Surely that's going to cost a few pounds in petrol/bus fares than it would to get the suggested sub-£15 dixon one? I read in the guardian that Tesco's were doing a similar £10 digi box too. All the big players like Amazon have them for £20 or less.
Cheapest isn't always the best moneysaving, in my opinion.
I'm also surprised that there isn't an amazing availability of used digiboxes, as so many people seem to be moving to HD TVs which have them built in any way. We're happy with our second hand 10 yr plus old TV for now! Although it's very tempting when emails show product below of an 32inch HD TFT TV with digital tuner for under £320!

The Wigan store have had non in since December 2007 and are not expecting anymore in !!!0

As has been said having a freeview box does not mean you will automatically receive digital tv pictures (even if you are "in the area").
10 You will not receive a signal from a TV RELAY transmitter, only from the main transmitter.
In my area the aerials tuned to a relay transmitter are positioned vertically.Where the signals come from a Main transmitter the aerials are in the horizontal position....So look to your neighbours and see which way they are pointing.
And remember if there is an obstruction (tall building,or hill etc) in the way, this is not good !!!!0 -
I contacted my local Sainsburys. They didn't have one but gave me Sainsbury's Helpline 0800 636 262. The chap was really helpful, he took my postcode and checked stock in individual stores local to me. Found some which had not been put on the shelves yet, and left my tel no with the store to contact me when they were on display.0

I rang West Hove, West Sussex, store to be told by a lady in the Electricals section that they had had about a dozen phone calls about the box and no they did not have them in stock nor were they expecting them. She added that she thought 'the London stores' were more likely to be getting them in. |So it looks like Dixons for me (or whatever they call themselves now!).0
