Hiya
Is there a way to clean these without taking them to cleaners and being fleeced at the sametime
help appreciated0 -
I think I'd try gently handwashing with hand-washing liquid or Lux flakes, in cold or slightly tepid water, and making sure they are back in their proper shape before drying draped over a hanger in the airing cupboard.
You won't need much washing liquid/flakes, just a teaspoonful should do swished around in a small bowl of water, so that you don't have too much rinsing out.
If the tie does go slightly out of shape, a very cool iron, cautiously applied, should sort it out. Iron while still slightly damp for the best result.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I have previously washed ties in the washing machine. Using a needle and tread tack around the shape of the tie. Then I rolled up and put into the pocket of a pair of trousers secure the pocket with a stitch of safety pin. After cleaning I unrolled and let dry naturally before removing the tacking stitches. I hope this helps you:j0

My husband recently bought a special bag for washing ties in. You put them in this gadget and roll it up before putting in the washing machine, it is supposed to help them keep their shape. He got it from one of those Kleenese catalogues!0

I am not saying you should do it, but I wash them in the washing machine and they come out fine.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Lakeland limited used to sell little packs of 'wipes' that could be used to spot clean silk ties etc ... not sure if they still do them but it's work a look.0

was hoping to do these in the wash, not sure how effective this would be though!!!0

They go bad in the wash, we've had them end up being washed by accident and had to be thrown out, maybe an airing in a tumble drier with a sheet in ? Works with DPs suit if it just needs livening up.
