Can anyone confirm voicemail is free if you call your own number from your phone? Am thinking of moving to T Mobile but am being put off by the fact that accessing VM isnt included in your monthly allowance

Some of the expensive tariffs are likely to have free voicemail - I don't know which ones (used to be the FlextT ones).

But the less expensive ones, you get charged. Only way around used to be dial your own number but t-mob stopped that workaround last year or year before.

Leaving only Hullomail as practical solution to get free voicemail - that still means using your allowance of minutes to listen to the voicemail or get it free through email. Hullomail is useful but next time around I am leaving t-mob :p.

I am a new TMobile user also surprised to find that TMobile charge for Voicemail. Last night I had a long conversation with their Customer Services and asked them where in the contract I signed did it mention Voicemail, the only answer they gave was that Voicemail is not included in any TMobile contract. I feel that this questions the whole validity of their contract as although it dose state what is included it does not say what is not included and I feel sure that it should.

However, perhaps more importantly in terms of retrieving VM for free my monthly plan states 'Your minutes and texts are from the UK to UK mobile networks and numbers beginning 01,02 and 03' but it does not say excluding your own mobile phone number. Therefore it would seem to perfectly legitimate to call your own number for whatever reason. I asked about their CS about this but they couldn't give an answer except to reiterate 'We charge for voice mail'.
  • Hullomail still works and still comes out of included minutes.

I did not know about this, having signed up to T-mobile three months ago, and called up to find out why I was being charged for a number that looked like a mobile number. My suspicion was that I had malware on my phone that was fraudulently making the calls!

I was told about the charge for voicemail, but the charges were deducted from this month's bill, and the advisor said she has added a booster pack free of charge, that means I won't be charged in future. I'm on the Web 900 plan.
  • Me too facing the same issue with TMobile. They dont reveal anything when signing up the contract esp the sales people hides all hidden negatives. Bad experience with TMobile. I have used my office TMobile (business plan) where there are no voicemail charges. I am not sure why the hell why they charge for other customers ... Bad experience with TMobile....Will soon quit..
