Well it's brought out the worst in me now; will nonchalently saunter past the carrier bag recycling cage in the morning and see if any have dropped out on to the floor and need picking up!

And technically could it still be classed as recycling (kind of), because you are re-using them? Maybe?

Mmmm! Although it'll probably also be classed as theft in this crazy screwed-up world we live in:naughty:

I dont use bin liners in my kitchen bin - rinse out cans, recycle jars, compost and wrap waste such as from meat in newspaper then bin - just wash out your bin each day. I do have a wheelie-bin liner in, but some people just hose out the bin each week to save even more.
    Pauline :-)
  • I reuse my carrier bags as much as possible. We cant have a bin in the house...dog would think it was a new toy.

With all the recycling etc find very little need for carrier bags as we are provided with large bags to put these goods in.

It amazes me when some neighbours with just a couple staying in a house have an over flowing bin every week

I'm running low on supermarket bags too  Can't have a pedal bin or the dog would be in there, so I suspend a bag of a tall cupboard handle - that's my bin!

I then have a bag for my plastics and another one for the glass and cans. Sort out my rubbish for our organic bin (which will take food scraps, as our Council have a HotRot composter) and the residual waste bin - the bins only get uplifted every fortnight. The glass, plastic and metals all get recycled, but I've got to take them to the bring banks :(

So, need to top up my plastic bag supply!

We can't have a bin either, we had a nice steel one with a flip in the lid. Came home from work one day and my poor dog had her face trapped in it, it really hurt her.
So it's gone now and we're back to carrier bags. Much cleaner IMO, we haven't got a box of rotting food in the kitchen.

Been shopping this morning, bit nervous about posting this in case the carrier-bag police are patrolling, what can I say.....mission accomplished!;)

Just keep moving as you go past!

Donors seem to stuff all their carriers into one bag and knot the top so a single strike should suffice!

Diving in head first to find the more upmarket carrier bags is not recommended!

Oh dear, somebody's going to come along and be cross with me shortly:o
