I have boiled potatoes, cooked sprouts and cooked carrots.

What is the best way of making it? How do I get the best tastiest results?

  • I melt a bit of butter, chuck everything in and let it crust on the bottom before meddling with it. I tur it around a bit and leave it to crust again then serve with picallili and a poached egg.

HFW has a good recipe in his Veg book for curried B&S which is the same pretty much, just with curry powder in it to give it a bit of an extra kick.

I understand thats the key, leave it in the pan to form a crust. I surpose you could form your ingredients into little 'burgers' to help this along.

    Hi tigerfeet,

This thread has lots of tips and advice that should help:

    Bubble and squeak

I'll add your thread to that one later.

If I mash the bits together do I add anything in with the mash before cooking?

I wasn't sure if it was that simple, so thought I would ask and make myself look silly :)
