If you do this, it says 'no manufacturers found'.....0 -
Worked for me - you need a space though.

Celeriac is certainly tricky to describe - I grow it on the allotment, so have eaten many!
It doesn't taste OF celery - but it does 'remind' you of celery. It is quite fibrous (like a parsnip might be) and can take a while to soften when cooking - especially if you are going to mash it. It has a very 'earthy' flavour - it is after all a root vegetableIt can make a lovely, creamy, wintery soup. If mashing, it likes plenty of salt and pepper and a splash of milk (actually, it likes butter and cream, but we shant mention that :rotfl: )

I will try celariac one day but I'm not keen on celery (neither is my OH) so will wait a while. Still trying to stop heaving when I eat too much swede on top of SW cottage pie! (Can eat a forkful or two then its all too much!)
TMI? :rotfl:0 -
Oh dear - the image of you and your swede topping is almost too much!!_pale_
Have you considered swapping the swede for something else.....
mashed butternut squash (steam then mash)
mashed pumpkin (steam then mash)
mixture of swede and carrot (boil then mash)
all of these would be free on red so could be subsituted on your meaty cottage pie....0 -
swede and carrot maybe next time. Haven't tried enough pumpkin or butternut squash to know if I could each much of those either. Might stick to quorn cottage pie and potato top!0

I've just had Quorn sausages with various veg and instead of potatoes (which rest of family had) I mashed swede and carrot together. I stirred in a tablespoon of very low fat fromage frais, black pepper and salt and then stirred through a few chopped sping onions.
It was delicious and I am certainly feeling full. Sometimes I use leeks instead of spring onions or even chives.0 -
I really can't get on with quorn
I was very inspired with wonderful pictures of quorn sausage and mash but I ended up with nasty bland spongy tubes... any tips coz I'm beginning to crave sausage and mash (with lots of onion gravy... yummy!)

Morrisons eat smart pork chilled sausages are 3 syns each on a green day IIRC. Thats the best option I think. The Quorn sausages are dry and bland but should be ok with gravy.0
