:hello: Hi all, been away since Friday night at FIL's.

Was quite hard sticking to it 100% and I've been starving but I've pretty much done it I think. Dinner friday night was at a pub on the way down - nothing on the menu that wasn't crispy/deep fried, or wasn't in cream, cheese or sauce (inc starters!) but convinced them to give me a plain piece of salmon (I left half - green day) with new pots and veg - except the veg came covered in a bit of butter  No syns used other than this though so might have got away with it.

Brekkie on Saturday was only fruit and yoghurt (I took with me) and couldn't have any lunch as we were out and about. Had a roast chook dinner last night which was fine for a green day (little meat, lots of veggies and potato) but brunch (no breakfast except banana and cup of tea) today consisted of chow mein at a shopping centre before I fainted

No alcohol at all this weekend - just diet lemonade and diet coke which I'm proud of (FIL likes to drink and we generally join in - whiskey, lots of wine and then after-dinner drinks). Dinner tonight is back to normal - Quorn meatballs and spaghetti - YUM YUM!!! Been drinking 2 litres of water since got home to flush out nasty chow mein! :rotfl:

Need 1lb off this week to get my 2.5stone award - I WILL GET IT, I WILL, I WILL!

    C xx

I had an OK day yesterday, but a touch of asthma so had a (medicinal) rum to help relax my chest. Good excuse, but it does actually help! Now I know vodka is 2.5 syns, but can anyone tell me what dark rum is - probably a lot as the colour comes from molasses! Maybe I'd best see if light rum has the same effect!

Anyway, struggling a little today. Went for a swim first thing, as swimming works miracles in getting my breathing right as I have to breathe more deeply and more regularly. Started off practically expiring at the end of the length, but after 6 or 8 lengths everything was starting to work better. I had to stop just as my breathing was coming right and my swimming was getting strong, as body was screaming at me that it had had no breakfast yet and it was running on empty!

So I came home and had porridge at about 10.30. We were leaving to go to a wedding at 12.45, so I tried to have a can of ravioli at 12.30 and just couldn't eat it as I was still full from the porridge. But by the time we escaped from the wedding/pics etc. at about 3.30 I was ravenous. Of course nothing SW to be had on a Sunday, so had a small slice of lemon cake (least worst) from the only shop we found open! I'm guessing that might be about 6 syns, but really have no clue.

We're having chicken tacos and rice (had a bit of a shock as found that Old El Paso taco seasoning is synned), and I think I'm just going to have to suck it up and have a high syn day today, as we are back for the evening do from 9pm on. We won't stay long, as DD has school and I start back to work tomorrow, so hopefully syn damage minimal there.

I kind of thought that this wedding would seriously mess things up, so I'll get straight back on the straight and narrow tomorrow.

Thanks Skint_Catt! I have to confess to being surprised about the rum thing, but quite happy. I only have the stuff in as it's left over from last year's Christmas pudding, so I don't exactly drink a lot of it, given that it's September now, but it really can be a godsend when the old wheezing kicks in. And since I didn't weigh the cake before I ate it, I have no idea how my original guess fits with reality! But the alternatives were a lot, lot worse, believe me!

Did you really faint, Skint? Thats terrible! But you did really well not to just give in and just eat what was on offer! I think I would have done! I hope you reach your target!:T

Can anyone tell me why you use Bovril and not oxo in Slimming World? Is it just better for you or is it something to do with fat/calories?

Oxo are synned because they contain a lot of salt and therefore not as healthy.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

No not quite, but we were in a hot shopping centre and not having eaten much (not like me!) was making me feel weak. :( Could have been worse, but I guess I should have stood in the horrendus queue for Spud u Like to go free with potato and beans. :o

All over now and I still have 2 HEb's for this evening snacks! (Quorn meatballs and spag for dinner were FANTASTIC! :j)
