I have just had a yummy dinner and no-one in the world who didn't know SW would have guessed that it was a slimming meal!

We had a chicken curry (chicken was HEB) with just about every spice you could think of chucked in, passata, stock made with bovril, onion and red pepper. Served with rice, and with a side of onion bhajis made with a recipe either from this thread or somewhere else on the web (forgotten, sorry). Basically onion, a couple of tablespoons of smash, egg to bind, curry powder and all dry fried with fry light. Yum! Even DH was impressed!

So I think I have come through today with my syns intact, so I get TWO glasses of wine tonight. Yay me!

Pair of trousers I'm in are comfy and wouldn't even have done up 10 days ago! Can go to the wedding tomorrow feeling less of a whale!

Me too!! I did the fish goujons (HE) and SW chips that they had in the magazine a while back, with a load of steamed veg and a lovely fruit salad for dessert. it was all really tasty and i wouldn't believe it was 'slimming' if I hadn't made it myself!

tomorrow i'm going to have ago at one or two of the curries in the little book that came with the mag this month.

Can anyone tell me why you use Bovril and not oxo in Slimming World? Is it just better for you or is it something to do with fat/calories?

Bovril is syn free. Oxo isn't, but I believe it is something paltry like a syn per oxo cube or something, so it won't kill you, but you might want to spend that syn on something more interesting.

    Hi everyone
As the title suggests I am trying SW at home for a month it was a choice of gym or SW and as I managed to get some OLDish SW books on Freecycle I paid for a months gym.
So heres the question how many syns is a Muller rice light normal size pot - apple and the rhubarb - eaten one and still got the other, Scared myself when I realised they would have a syn value - I have a simple brain and just remembered muller and free!!!!

Also on a techie question how do you add to your posts the little taglines or counters?
    Thanks
  • The mullerice 1% fat are 6 syns a pot if its the normal 150g ones, on both red and green. Well it is for the apple, toffee, strawberry and raspberry. The orginal is 5 1/2 suns on red and green.

The mullerice snacksize low fat 150g pots are between 8 and 8 1/2 syns per pot on both red and green.

Basically, feed the other mullerice to the OH or a neighbour and have ten mullerlights youghurty ones for free instead!

I made the Squash and Spinach curry out of the little book when the magazine first came out. It's free on green and original. It's quite quick to make and tasty. There's no sauce with it though, which you usually get with curries.
