    morning everyone,
I travelled up to my mum and dads yesterday. Went to see Hibs v Barcelona with my dad and sis last night and am staying here until sunday night.
Tomorrow me, my mum and dad and a friend are going to the air show at the national museum of flight. The plan is to pack a picnic, now as my dad is getting the food for it, I'm a bit concerned it may be pork pies etc. So I've been on the SW website for some ideas and am off shopping this afternoon for some bits for me. I WILL NOT be unwittingly sabotaged!!! LOL
    Should be good though.
    Just hope it stays sunny
Well done Penny, Polly and Emma keep up the good work!
Judderman, At least you know you are going to get back on track, those 4lbs and some others will be gone soon enough

Wish I'd seen this earlier - this month's SW has some great ideas in for picnic food - am going to try the Scotch eggs. Have a good time anyway!

Hello everybody . I would very much like to join in with this thread. I have been reading with interest for a while now. This is the first post I have ever made on any website anywhere! I barely know my way around a computer so please forgive me any mistakes.

Here's my story - I joined Slimming World in January 2007 after being told by the IVF clinic (long long story) that I have to lose 5 stone before they will help me. I lost 3 stone in the first 5 months. I then went on holiday for a fortnight (and put on 8.5 lb) and struggled on with class (I comfort eat and binge big style when I am unhappy and being childless makes me VERY unhappy) until March this year when I finally admitted defeat and left. Since my rather good start (I thought so anyway) I have now put 1.5 stone back on. I have been beating myself up about this as I know in my head it should be easy and that if I want the IVF bad enough (which believe me I do) then I should need no better incentive to lose the weight.

I am ashamed to type all this out to be honest, because it should be so easy, but it's not.

So, the plan is - I need to lose 3.5 stone and tomorrow (Saturday) I am going to start the Slimming World plan again (although I won't be able to go to class as I can't afford it at the moment). I have the fridge stocked with all the right things and am ready to go. I will weigh myself in the morning (deep breath) and I hope, with support from this thread (if you will have me) I can finally get to where I want to be.

Sorry to ramble on. I hope I haven't bored you all!:o

    Thanks for reading this.

  • Hello CLB70, its great to have you on board !! It will be lovely to get to know you over the coming weeks and months.

Hope your weigh in tomorrow morning spurs you on to stay committed to the plan. If you were to attend class, they would advise you to keep a written food diary for the first four weeks, may I suggest that it would be a good idea for you to post your food diary for a week or two (one day at a time!) - you will find plenty of support here, and posting a daily diary might be useful to keep you on track at the start!

Good luck - I totally understand why you want to do this,
    take care and good luck

Thanks for the reply angie loves veg :A. I lay awake most of last night worrying about what I'd written and hoping that somebody would reply!!

I have weighed-in this morning and am 2lb heavier than I thought - so it's 3 stone 9 lb I have to get rid of.

I have measured out my milk allowance and will have a Shape lasting satisfaction yoghurt with banana and strawberries for my breakfast, not sure about the rest of the day yet though (although it will probably be a green day). Every journey begins with the first step as they say....

    Wish me luck!

Kirsten - Slimming world chips are nice and with baked beans and egg they make quite a treaty meal.

Another fave of mine and dead easy to make iis astir fry of mushroms and peppers and have some boiled rice with it - I usually chuck some chilli or curry powder in the stir fry to give it some ooomph )use fry light for the frying of course)

    good luck :beer::beer:

Thanks for the reply judderman - haven't attempted the chips yet - I might do that tonight! I'm also a very fussy eater and don't like peppers so I'll have to either chop them so finely that I can't see them, or find a substitute lol :D

CLB70, You have come to the right place !! although I dont post very often I keep reading all the post and if you want support this is the place.
The folks here are fantastic and you will only have to ask and someone will help you.
Keeping a food diary is a good idea, I have been at target for a long time but I still have times when I go mad and eat all the wrong things putting on pounds.I then do a food diary and it seems to get me focused again
Good luck and dont get down if there are times when you dont loose as much as you would like.IT WILL COME OFF
