Gosh, wi tomorrow morning (after breakfast) - I have really stuck to the plan this week, so hopefully I will be scaring those scales tomorrow!!!

Todays Mix2Max went *really* well - had a lovely day of food and felt really in control. Lunch was green, dinner was red. I have felt full and satisfied all day and have used 9 syns (which includes wine) - this could be the way forward for me.:D

OMG manic not had chance to read tonight. So a blanket well done if you've lost, sts. Chin up if you have gained.

    TG here you go

Lamb koftas with creamy tomato dip.
Dip mix 200g vlf fromage frais with 113ml passata, season well and chill. 2lb extra lean lamb mince, 3 crushed garlic, ½ diced red onion, 2tsp medium curry powder, handful of chopped mint. Combine in bowl with fingers. Divide into 16 portions (walnut size ball). Place on grill rack and cook for 5 mins on each side until cooked.
Free on red 4 on green.

    Tikka drumsticks with raita dip
Mix 250g vlf yoghurt with handful of each: mint, toms, red onion, cucumber. Remove skin from chicken drumsticks. Slash chicken a few times and place in bowl. Mix 3tbsp tandoori, 1tsp ground tumeric, 2tsp paprika, 4tbsp white wine vinegar, 10tbsp vlf yoghurt, 3 crushed garlic cloves, and 1cm piece grated ginger. Pour over chicken, toss and chill 6-8 hours or over night. Grill under medium grill for 20-30 mins. Turning oftern until cooked. Free on red 3.5 on green.

    Parmesan twists.
Preaheat oven to 220c. Place a sheet of just roll puff pastry on a work surface and brush with a beaten egg. Sprinkle over 28g grated parmesan and 1 tbsp paprika. Fold the pastry in half, press down lightly to seal, then cut in half. Cut each half into 8 strips and twist each strip a few times. Place on a non- stick baking tray, press the ends down and brush with a little more egg. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden. Stand for 10 mins before serving. Makes 16 twists. 3 syns on each

    Hot spicy pots
Preheat to 220c. 2lb new pots. Place in single layer on non stick roasting tray. Mix tsp each of paprika, dried chilli flakes, cumin seeds, black onions seeds with 8tbsp passata. Season well, spoon over potato so coating is even. Spray with fry light and bake for 20-25 mins. Remove from overn and spear with cocktail sticks. Makes 32 free on green, 1 syn on red.

Also Devilled eggs recipe is on the website.

I amy be tempted to by some syn free seasoning rather than all those spices if you don't use a lot of spices.

Do you need drink suggetions too?????

Also kebbab recipe which I have used and was yummy may also work syn free on red. No idea on green
1 fresh green chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
    2 tsp ground ginger
5 minced or chopped garlic cloves
2 tbsp finely chopped corriander leaves
    1 tsp roasted cumin seeds
500g pack of extra lean minced beef
2 tbsp finely chopped red onion
1 tsp mild or medium chilli powder
    1 beaten egg (poor thing...)
    2 tsp sea salt

Bung it all in a bowl and squidge! Use fingers, utensils don't work well with this. Make sure it is all really well mixed together. Cover and pop in fridge overnight to marinate (I did not put in fridge, I used straight away)
Preheat oven to 190/ gas 5
Divide meat into 12 portions and shape each one round a metal or bamboo skewer.
I found it easier to make sausages and then thread skewer through the middle.
Place on baking tray and spray lightly with fry light. Bake for 15- 20 mins turning once during cooking. Serve with wedges of lemon to squeeze over.
    Lots to loose.....
first goal 2 stone (done) , Next target another 1st

    1 and 3/4 lb lost this week TOTAL: 31 and 1/4lb :j

DO YOUR BEST......NO MORE, NO LESS.

  • Hello to all! I have had a good day today, 1 day down, 6 to go!:rotfl:

Breakfast: Mango, banana, pear, All Bran (B) and milk (A)
    Snack: Mugshot
    Lunch: Leftover quorn lasagne
Snack: Carrot sticks, cucumber, tomato, 28g cheddar (A)
Tea: Chopped onion, fried in olive oil (B), then add red lentils and stock and simmer, eaten with wholemeal rice.

Syns:1 toffo (1ish) stolen from DS
1 tsp stock powder (1/2) - just using it up, will use marmite in future
1 Hartleys Low Cal jelly (1/2)

I am so full I couldn't eat another mouthful!

By the way, the quorn lasagne I made last night was from the recipe Peachy posted (or re-posted?) on p99 of this thread. The nutmeg 'sauce' was really nice. I will definitely do this again. Last night, I thought that the quorn mixture could do with some tomato puree or (preferably and) tomato pesto to improve the flavour. However, when I ate the leftovers today, it was lovely. Quorn always seems to take on the other flavours better if you leave it a while. It always pays to plan ahead!
  • is quorn mince nice? i was going to try quorn sausages but people don't seem to rate them very much.
  • also is there a difference between balsamic vinegar and balsamic dressing? cos syns online says balsamic dressing is 2 syns but vinegar is meant to be free.
