Peachy, thanks for putting all those recipes together - I think I shall do a bit of cut and paste later. The asparagus soup by Welshnutta is delish, really nice and creamy tasting.

This weekend has been a bit of a disaster and it's my WI tomorrow. My DH is home at the weekend so We tend to go out and I drink alcohol so really too many sins, but I've kept the portions of food small. The truth will out tomorrow I guess.

I am worried about the weekend coming and the following week - we are on holiday doing a bit of a tour of the UK visiting folks and it's going to be a bit of a nightmare keeping track of what I eat/drink as others will be cooking for us. HAs anybody got any strategies for when you are enjoying other people's hospitality?
I'm thinking I have to be really good this week until friday which should give me a head start.

I really need to shift a few pounds as my weight loss is so slow to be almost unnoticable and it's very demotivating (and quite depressing when I look at me naked in the mirror:eek: !!!)

I had quite alot of wine last night but have discovered Lambrini Light, only 5 syns for a large glass, mixed with diet lemonade 2.5 syns per glass, i worked out in the small bottles there are 3.5 larges glasses in it, so mixed with lemonade gives you 7 large glasses of wine for only 17.5 syns!!!
Its about £2.35 a bottle, it used to be called diet now its called light, have checked on syns online and its 2.5 syns for 142ml. Perfect for low syn drink.

Well today i am trying mix to max for the first time.
Iv have beans egg and quorn sausages for brekie (GREEN)

Dinner will be- Mug shot and huge meat and fish salad with 6 wholemeal crispbreads(hob), tuna, pork and boiled eggs, followed by fruit and yoghurt.(RED)

Tea-SW chips with quorn fillets and pasta bake.(GREEN)

    Supper-Toast (hob)

Hoping this mix to max works, love the idea of being able to enjoy both days in one.

Thanks for all the receipes Peachy,

The quiche one I was looking for was the one with eggs and cottage cheese in, I know last time I did SW it was free depending what day you were on and if you put meat in or not. If any body does know how to make this one, can you post, I did go back over the old thread but couldn't see it.

Can't believe I actually had a quorn burger and sw chips last night whilst every body else sat eating take out, The burger was a quarter pounder, very filling couldn't even eat it all. Not perhaps quite as nice as the real thing but good enough,

Not sure what day I'm having today, just waiting on my asda delivery so depend if it come in time for dinner.

Good luck to those who have weigh in today and tomorrow, fingers and toes crosses.
  • hi all, been moving house so i'm afraid it's been kfc and chip shop chips for dinner!only had a small cheese and lean ham bap for breakfast tho and 1 of those tiny stubby beers, been too busy to eat or drink, which is not something you usually hear me say!packing and unpacking old kitchen into new 1 today so will have no more excuses.got lots of veggies, quark and plain yogurt to use up so i'm thinking veg curry/lasagne for dinner.had cheese on toast for brek (hea &heb) so not really too worried about kfc blip.besides shifting all those boxes must've counted as quite alot of body magic?!and 5 loads of washing done and dried!!!!!

PARISKATE - i find it best not tell people i'm on a diet as they instantly become offended on your behalf (of course you don't need to lase weight, just have a little, etc) and try to feed you up even more!you could say you're worried about your cholestrol level or trying to cut back on your meat intake, that way you can have lots of veg/free foods and only tiny bits of high syn stuffand try to stick to superfree foods in between(free on both, that is).oh,and don't forget the water!you may not be able to count every syn accurately but you'll keep a balance.MOST of all, don't deny yourself if you want something but please don't give in to pressure to eat things if you don't want to either.people have a terrible habit of sabotaging diets for some reason!

    Hello Everybody,
I usually hangout in the competitions area of MSE but I joined SW on Thursday and discovered this thread, I haven't managed to read it all but what I have read has been soooo useful. I managed to lose a lot of weight with SW about ten years ago and pretty much managed to keep it off for most of that time, with the occasional hicup along the way. In the last year or so, though, the weight has piled on, I've had a few half hearted attempts at 'goin it alone' but with no success, which has made me very cross with myself. It's really been getting me down lately (getting out of breath/avoiding mirrors/clothes not fitting/no energy etc.) and something just clicked in my head that enough is enough, so I joined SW . I know I can do this ( I've done it before after all!). Things have changed a bit on the plan and I'm still getting my head around that but,at the moment, I'm feeling really positive about it all but I know from experience there will probably be times that are not so good. Anyway now that I've found you guys I shall probably be picking your brains at regular intervals.
    Keep smiling:D

Morning all, how are you all doing? Good i hope.

Reporting back on the fishcakes i had for tea last night, they were lovely and so filling, i had planed on having 2 with syn free chips and mushy peas, but only ate one as they were very filling.
Didnt take much making either, mash potaoes, cod, spring onions, herbs, then make into cakes, cover in egg and roll in breadcrumbs. Yummy, Only 2.5 syns per cake on a green day (with the cod as a HOb)

Tommorow is my WI so i am on the soda water today and being extra good, iv used almost my full quota of syns each day this week, which i havent in the past few weeks so i am interested to see if i lose weight.
    Fingers crossed for everyone.

It's not necessary to cook and allow to cool. I just make up with tepid water, whisk in the eggs, cottage cheese (or whatever) and put in a quiche dish. Cook Gas 6 for ½ to ¾ hour until brown.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
