it sounds like your mate has reported it lost/solen in other words you want to get hold of your friend get them to phone up their provider to get them to unblock the phone as you will not be able to do it as they will ask for his/her details so they can sort it out hope this helps

I need to unlock a Samsung D900 currently locked to T mobile. Have rang them and they can do it for £15 in 28 days. Unfortunately I need it to take abroad and I leave in 5 days!

Have read other posts which suggest an independent mobile shop but not sure whether this is the likes of Carphone Warehouse or a one man band.

Am a total techno numpty and time is running out. Can someone advise?

The only place you are going to get a free code is form Virgin Mobile (if you have topped up by £30).

Otherwise have a look on ebay.
The seller below on ebay does them for £4.
