    Hi all

Mobile newbie, so bear with the stupid questions !!

OH had a Vodaphone branded "palm Treo" (PDA, smart phone type thing) from the office via contract.

After a couple of months, he lost it and got a replacement (same) one. We have since found it, and put in a Virgin sim. It activated and comes up as Tmobile (from reading this thread I realise they are the same).

It still has his old info but can't get it to do anything, eg. make phone calls and connect to internet. I assume we have to get this unlocked?

Would it be still locked into the contract or can I get it unlocked (if so how)? Shame to have it sitting in the bottom draw.

    Any advice appreciated...

    Thanks

it's blocked by the networks , they are the only ones who can do it

    they consider it lost/stolen

Do not ask for codes in this thread

DO NOT PM ME FOR UNLOCK CODES

Most Motorola's , LG's , Samsungs and Sony Ericssons cannot be unlocked by code and need to be unlocked by direct cable or clip in a shop.

If there is not a code listed for your phone below then there is NO free way to unlock it, you need to find a shop or Market Stall to do it for you (correct as of 08/06/08)

Expect to pay between £5 - £20 for most phones for the person to do the unlock

Thanks Browntoa. Wasn't so much asking for codes, but whether it was a lost cause or whether it was still useable.

I want to use my old E370 for my son as his other was stolen, I have a new sim from 3 and when put in it says insert sim so I'm assuming it is locked. Is this correct and I also think that to unlock it I need to buy a clip. Any help appreciated please.

Found a cheap Sony Ericsson K610i on T Mobile, does anyone know if that will take a 3 sim card, thanks.
