This is what I thought.
So can you also confirm that there is no maximum percentage of coupons that
you will take towards one shop? ie I can use a £3 coupon on a £5 shop.
Thank you.
Tesco
Thank you for your reply.
You can use vouchers to pay for the entire cost of your shopping. However, change can only be paid in cash if less than £0.99, any change over £1.00 will be paid in vouchers.
I hope this helps.

Ben500- Did you know you can get change from your coupons?!:D
Of course.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
what?!?!?! So what's happened to their silly 10% limit which got me embarrassed a couple of weeks ago??
I sent a similar reply to the standard email response (your first reply) and they still haven't replied. Contacted my local store who said that only 10% in coupons is accepted, even if the products ARE bought! Eejits!0 -

There never has been a 10% limit this is imposed locally and not company policy as I have said previously on many occasions.
The only way to determine policy is through their head office, all the various limits placed on coupon redemption are made by egotistical branch managers and supervison acting outsde their remit tailor made to suit the particular incident they are dealing with, this is why you will have so many differing policies even in the same branch, in short THEY MAKE IT UP AS THEY GO ALONGFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Me...Tesco
Thank you for your email.
Any coupons, which display the Tesco logo, are Tesco specific. We only
accept these if the products referred to on the coupons are purchased. This is
because we negotiate savings with our suppliers on the condition that these
actual products will be purchased.
With regard to coupons from brand name manufacturers, we are happy to accept
one, even if you have not purchased the product. The coupon must be in date
and Tesco must sell the item. If you present more than one identical coupon,
then you must purchase the same number of products.
This also applies to coupons printed from the Internet. These will only be
accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager.
I do hope that this clarifies our policy and thank you for your enquiry.

Hi there bylromarha.
I've just read your post and I can't believe it!
The fact that they've said that you can use coupons for the entire cost and that they will even give change!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to hear from them....I have written (sent it recorded delivery) but still havent heard...
Thats all I've done really done is write to HO . I did phone the police as I really did think that the security manager was way over the top and shouldnt have behaved the way he did. I've logged it and they say I can report the "intimidating and threatening behaviour" but I havent yet. One part of me says just leave it but another part of me says I wouldnt like anyone else treated like that.
Thanks to all once again...this site had been a life saver!0 -
Hi Igloo, I have followed your thread with interest and a lot of sympathy for you having to deal with this. I am sure you will eventually be compensated for their behaviour, but I would urge you to press charges, otherwise bullies like this will never know when they have overstepped the mark. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0

Getting info from customer services is all well and good, but it's of little use when you're at a checkout manned by some officious minion who steadfastly refuses to believe you when you quote company policy at them!0

While this exchange is certainly interesting, personally i would like to see someone request a copy of Tesco's policy document on the use of voucher redemption. This is the only way to move forward regarding local stores who are incapable of applying company precedure to the transactions at the tills.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Fifer wrote:You have nothing to apologise for. I'd certainly pursue reporting the security guard to the police in your situation, but it is entirely your decision. I'm glad you posted.
Great advice, waste police time and Tesco's investigation time. Say you succeed (which I can not imagine in a million years) then what, your success means that the security guard sacked for doing his job? Do you really feel that is a fair situation? Can you honestly say that using every vouchure you can get your hands on is morally correct behavour?
The security guard as far as I can read, did not use any physical force nor was abusive to the person, merely detained her to withdraw Tesco's property (which the person was very reluctant to hand back).
Good luck with wasting police time on this one, brilliant idea when the Police force are presently working all hours god send to do irrelevant things such as protect the country from terrorism!!!!0 -
While igloo was detained (with her children) for doing something that was not actually illegal - how many shoplifters (which is illegal) were getting away with a load of pilfered stuff?"This site is addictive!"
