  • !!!!!!, too quick to post..I mean't the Japanese screen is superior to the US screen ?

This was a rumour that was circulating for quite a while but it turned out to be completely false. US and Asian PSPs both use the same LCD panel (Sharp I think).

Yeah, I had a nice email later on in the day. Shame they didn't make it so clear at first. Panic over!

I bought two PSP when in the US earlier this year. They were selling out very fast over there. I've kept one and I have put the other on E-bay cos no-one in my family wanted it. Any offers PM me or search more seller: bug_bloke on ebay.

They are worth it if you are a big gamer.

You`re obviously alluding to the plan to give away a Spiderman 2 UMD once UK buyers have registered their PSP on the Sony web-site. Supposedly limited to the first 1 million buyers. Try running that past the person teasing you with info and see their reaction !

No, I'm not alluding to that. That's pretty much common knowledge and, I think, has even been publicly acknowledged by Sony.

I've still no idea what the extra might be. It could, of course, be absolutely nothing at all, other than an elaborate and cunning plan designed to slow down imports.

    Better not be, though!

A quote in an email from a relevant SCEE person: "the PAL Wipeout and PAL Ridge Racer will actually be ''better'' then the US and JAP version when speaking of gamemodes etc.., you will read or see the difference soon, but I can say that the difference is very interesting and unique!"

If there was something "special" planned wouldn't they have told us by now? It's less then a month away now.
  • I agree, sounds dodgy to me - "PAL Wipeout". PAL is a television standard, and has no bearing whatsoever on a closed system such as the PSP.

If this is supposedly a comment from an SCEE employee why refer to UK PSP games as PAL? Plus the game code has already gone gold, so no significant changes can be made to it. The only possibility is if SCEE release new download content for UK games that are somehow blocked for PSPs from other regions.

Personally I can't see that Sony (a worldwide company) is going to have a "special" flavour for the UK, esp, when it is a small market as compared with USA and Asia...Sony would generally follow the "one size fits all model"...but let's see.
