I can vouch for Lik-Sang too. Ordered mine back in December when they had just been released. Literally took 3 days shipping from Hong Kong - great service.

You will more than likely be subject to import taxes though - but they shouldn't be too bad any more. (My PSP cost £300, import tax of £70 payable on delivery!)

It may be worth re-reading the entire thread as lik-sang now pay these taxes and fees for you.

Liksang (https://www.liksang.com) is a well-established Hong Kong exporter. They currently have the PSP Value Pack for us$279 (£157) or the bog-standard PSP for US$249 (£140), with free shipping. Why wait for September?

    Real warranty perhaps?

    Err no they don't...

I received my PSP a couple of weeks ago when the free shipping offer started and you have to pay VAT (17.5%) and import tax (3.5%). I have to pay £48 o delivery but I bought a few games too.

    Apologies, I meant yesasia.com, not lik-sang

In other words, customers choosing the Standard Shipping method for their orders to UK can enjoy VAT-FREE offer at YesAsia.com."

it isn't worth buying the UK PSP. Why? ...
[1] Costs a lot more £179 when you can get it for $200 (~102) from US/JAP, but it's difficult cos you have to go through ebay.
[2] When PSP comes out in UK it will have firmware 2.0, currently you can play homebrew and emulators e.g. snes/mega drive/gb/gba on firmware versions 1.0 and 1.5 only
[3] The value pack is not worth the extra money really, the 32mb stick is too small, it will be filled up far too quickly especially if you get wipeout pure which has downloadable extra tracks.

On ebay the guy i got my PSP from is jpitem, but he doesn't seem to be selling any PSP's at the moment, you could try ask him though, he was a great seller

UK PSP is available as a pre-order for £160 (£20 less than you're stating) and you'd get a FULL warranty unlike the JAP units.

Personally, I have a JAP unit, however if I was thinking of buying now I'd prob wait for UK release.

You can pretty much guarantee that homebrew will be operable on a v2 unit shortly anyhoo.

Sorry - they may have a ".co.uk" address on your link, but they are a Canadian firm. Check out the shipping options - 5 days to UK. Also, you are very likely to be stung for import duty - customs are aware of the massive amount of PSPs shipped to the uk.

Sony have clamped down on many of the overseas exporters - Play Asia.com have been forced to stop selling to the uk.

Sony have really clamped down - they had a go at all the sellers of PSPs on Ebay and (as far as I`ve heard) they have all but dried up on there now.

My advice would be to wait for the uk launch - the uk warranty is well worth the small delay incurred.

Gamestation are normally worth a look. Most stores will let you pre-order, depending on how the stock situation looks (Although, knowing Sony, they'll ship far too few..), and they offer good bundle deals too.

They'll probably do a deal like: PSP & selected game & additional case for £179.99, or just £189.99 with any game.

Also, I feel it's worth mentioning that the "non" value pack will not be available in England (At first). The only packs on sale will be value packs, as they are the ones most people want anyway. They're well worth it, even if just for the case to protect your PSP with.

Don't forget to buy a screen protector too. The price to pay for a big shiny screen is a massive scratch across the front of it two days after buying it, from leaving it laying face-down on a table ;).

The seller I purchased my Jap PSP from on eBay was "Electronic Unicorn". (electronicunicorn@gmail.com). He did me a very good deal, at the time, of:

    PSP Value Pack
Wipeout Pure game (I could've chosen any Jap / US game available)
    Screen protector
    Additional rubbery case
USB sync / charger cable (very useful)

All for £198 dead on, including shipping to the UK. Arrived in about 4 days, was very pleased :). Didn't pay any VAT / Customs duty either. Try contacting him if you're interested to see if he has any for sale.

Worth mentioning also is the Memory Stick. If you can afford it, pick up a 1GB one. Anything less and you have no hope of fitting a decent quality movie on there alongside your save games. They're retailing for less than £80 now, I think I paid about £70 for mine, which is good considering they were over £110 only a few months ago.

When purchasing a PSP from an online seller, be aware of what model you are getting. If you wish to run homebrew programs and emulators (remember, only emulate retail games if you own them, otherwise you'll get a slap on the hand), then you need to get either a Jap or US VERSION 1.5 FIRMWARE PSP. Anything later (1.51, 1.52, 2.00) and you won't be able to run anything as Sony patched their PSP Firmware after 1.5 to stop it.

Be aware as well that a Jap PSP will play the English UMD Movies when they are released here, as it is encoded to Region 1, but a US PSP will ONLY play US UMD Movies as it is encoded to Region 2. Games have no regions, and you can play Jap / US / English games on any PSP.

    Enough nattering. Hope I've helped.
