twink - that is just awful - I'm so sorry. I am exdirectory but it turns out after investigation that we have been allocated an ex-business number for the local supermarket and our number is plastered all over lots of internet sites! (can't tell you which supermarket as it is possible to work out our phone number!)
the phone call was from a railway staion 50 miles away but someone who knew us, he thought he would make up for dh being away
my boys were very good i not only got a chain on the front door but on my bedroom door too :rotfl: bless them0 -
Off out now for my evening of snooker

((((hugs))))) Tattycath and dd, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you, whatever it is at least they are responding and doing something about it. It must be so worrying for you though. Remember we are all here for you. We now have a 2 week wait for dd's results so going to try and keep busy.
We now have a new bed for Penny and it is twice the size of the old one, It is one of the RSPCA ones from Argos and at a better price than TK Maxx and washable! Not girly and pink though like dd wanted!
OH is getting us a takeaway as today has been quite a drain. parents evening at the school so lots of kids in after school! Very noisy!
Off to cheer myself up with a read of the shabby chic thread and then the greenfingered one so I can see what I should be doing in the garden.

Hugs to Tattycath.
Pen Pen, I wasn't ignoring you, I just couldn't think what advise to give.
Got to go as Katy is breathing down my neck as she wants to apply for loads of jobs.

Evening everyone :hello:
Huge (((((hugs))))) to smokybabe. You and your DH are in my thoughts.
Happy birthday to poppet
Only a very quick time to pop on here. We've had "the call" to say that Ofsted are in school on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Needless to say, today the classroom has been swished and double checked that bits and pieces are close to being good. The school is in Special Measures, but we're all feeling semi-positive about it now. Other than the head being a complete muppet, obviously........
This all focuses the mind somewhat on the old grocery challenge. I haven't been to the shops since the beginning of the month and we're using up all the pre-prepared meals in the freezer, that were actually being saved up for the run up to Ofsted! Having said that, it IS the farmers' market on Saturday, which only comes round once a month so we HAVE to go.
I've also offered to help in the Box Office of the cinema tomorrow night. The local theatre in a converted church shows films every now and again and because I know very people in this town, I volunteered my services.
Anyway, enough procrastinating. Time to get sorted and mark some books.

Joannesmum It's awful when a pet dies. We gave our youngest a kitten on his 3rd birthday, on his 4th it was run over. It was awful. Stuck to dogs after that.
Tattycath & Catz Hope all goes well & the wait isn't too frustrating.

Evening all,
Caught up on yesterdays thread now. ((((Smokey)))).
Tattycath, hope all goes well tomorrow.
Candygirl, sorry to hear about your dad. Hope the medication helps.
Well, today was my last day at work. Picked the boys up from school and have been busy ever since. I decided to get everything done today so that tomorrow i can have a guilt free day out on my bike and browsing the shops. So far I have:
baked a tray bake, made two loaves of bread, and dinner was pasta and sausages.
Changed the boys' beds and remade them.
Cleaned kitchen cupboards and floor,
cleaned bathroom throughout.
washed, dried and put away a wash load
wm on again at the moment, ready to go out first thing.
Just off to watch ashes to ashes.
