As there's a waitrose supermarket near me I'm thinking of getting one of their mastercards. I am one of those who always pays in full every month, although buying groceries will only be a small percentage of my spend. Neither will I be spending a lot with J.Lewis0

Signed up for Citibank's Platinum card a few months ago and they pay 1% cashback annually. Make sure you pay your balance off in full every month though :j0

I saw kokyu's reply to this thread about the Linemypocket American Express Nectar Card with £25 cashback, it actually works!! I did the offer on Linemypocket last week and I have got the £25 cashback and the card already. Check it out, its £25 free for applying plus 1000 points worth £5-10, plus double points on your spend in some places eg sainsburys is worth 2% discount (1% from Nectar card 1% from Amex card). The offer is still up if you are interested...

I applied for a Morgan Stanley card, but was refused because my income is too low. However, I have £8k in savings and am more than capable for paying it off. Anything I do to get hold of a card? Is it possible to get it in my mum's name (which she doesn't mind) and then link it to my bank accout so money comes out of there?0

icklemish you could either write to MS appealing against their decision including evidence of your savings or as you say get your mum to apply and then name you as a secondary card holder.God save the King!

i was thinking of getting a loan out to pay for some work done to a new kitchen etc but after reading this thread im wondering whether it would be better for me to get a cashback credit card and put it all on that?
would i be paying too much in interest on a credit card? or have i actually had a good idea for a changelol
It only seems kinky the first time.. :A0 -

I would go for a loan with the best interest rate.
Cashback credit cards are only good if you pay off the full balance each month unless you can find a cashback card which is also offering 0% interest on purchases for a limited period of time.
For a kitchen costing £5,000 for example, the best credit card [Amex] will only produce a maximum £100 cashback [2%]. Typical cashback cards [MBNA Conran card] will produce £50 cashback [1%].Do It To Them Before They Do It To You

You could try a new Tesco credit card for the kitchen purchase. They have 0% on purchases until May 2006 so you have a few months to pay it off interest free. For £5000, you would also get 2500 tesco points = £25 off at Tesco
or £100 in deal vouchers
