Quick question regarding preferential treatment.. are payments made to people only classed as that if they were made after such time as I decided to go bankrupt?
For example, a few months ago I paid my friend about £500 that i owed him, this was before I decided to go bankrupt so wasn't trying to pay him off beforehand, just paid him when I said I would when he lent me the money originally (this shows as a big withdrawal from my current account so the OR will spot it and am guessiing they will query it)!:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Just a quick update as it's been a very quiet time for me since last monday!
So far spoken to three of my creditors, all very polite once I mentioned the "B" word. More than my actual day on court, these phonecalls have been such a release, from 3,4,5 or more calls a day to practically none and actually having them tell me they won't contact me again and good luck for the future (well only one said that and caught me completely off guard
:))
Also on day 8 of my stop smoking program, taking champix and seems to be working well.. only on about 5 a day now from 20.. roll on 31st March (my stopping day!)
Just like to add.. all the best to everyone on here wherever they are on their journey to a debt free life!:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -

Thanks Dalip, I just looked at my I&E and realised how much of my surplus income would be going on ciggies, it'd hardly leave me anything
I do like smoking and know it'll be hard but if I can honestly say that in a year i'm debt free and ciggies free, i'll be so happy and proud of myself _party_:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
