Parking close to International Airport. (MERGED)

Hiya,
Not quite cheapest car parking query, but which carpark at the International is the quickest to get to from the airport door?
Basically my (easyjet) flight gets in at 1910 and I'm hoping to get to the Waterfront for 2000! *grin* I doubt if I'll make it, even if the flight is on time and am tossing up whether or not to even try or just to give my ticket away, but.......
(Obviously I am initially driving to Aldergrove and need somewhere to park the car)0 -

Sor_Fes2 - if you can manage to have only hand baggage that will save you about 10-15 minutes faffing around waiting for checked in bags to come out. Think your best bet is the short term car park - it's literally just across the road from the door of the terminal. The long term car park isn't far away either, only about three minutes walk and is cheaper. To shave a couple of extra minutes off your time you can use a credit or (I think) a debit card at the long term...just put it into the machine when you first arrive, then when you go put the same card into the machine and it'll take the appropriate amount, and off ya go. This would save having to queue up at those pay and park machines.
I think your plans are achievable, though it might go t*ts up if easyJet are running late. The 8.00 pm start for the Waterfront might actually be 8.30 pm or 9.00 pm.
Or you could simply plan to be fashionably late.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
I am hoping to just have hand-luggage but I have a sneaking suspicion that it might just not work. Only going Wed - Sun but going to see fireworks on the Sat and need my sturdy shoes with me as well as my better presentable shoes for work stuff :-( We'll see...
It's Rich Hall that I'm going to see... not sure if walking in fashionably late to a comic show is a good idea *grin*
I know that it SHOULD be do-able.... Just another couple of weeks and then I can catch up on sleep.0 -
There is a company near Garwick and Heathrow who collect your car when you get to the airport and return it to you on arrival for £20.0. Now, that's cheapppppp0

Sor_fes2, a good tip (but a bit silly too) is to wear as much as you can thus avoiding an overstuffed bag...eg two t-shirts, a jumper and your coat...did this once, nearly boiled to death, but no excess baggage fees were imposed.
Walking into the comedy show after it has started might be a bit embarrassing I agree...you might end up being the "reluctant star".
It might be worth a ring to the venue to find out what time the act is actually due on stage...he might be planning to be fashionably late himself.
Have a brill time if we don't hear from you before the night in question.0 -
Thought I'd just say I managed to make the show on Sunday. Yippee.
Stayed in the long-term car park. Cost me £26 (which is fine since work is paying for it *grin) for 4 days - Wednesday to Sunday. Can pay by credit card which was handy. Managed to just have hand luggage, though my brother is hopefully taking the stuff I left behind over this weekend! Easyjet has hand-luggage only checkin at both Belfast and Luton.
Anyway, managed to make it the Waterfront with 1 min to spare, though I did park in the Hilton carpark.
Rich Hall was pretty good. But I think the best comedian I've seen is Bill Baile.#96 of the Norn Iron Club

My dad booked with Easypark today and the price is now £5 per day.0

I used Killead Lodge last week and I was pleased with them and would definitely use them again! It says on the side of their bus that they charge £3 a day.0

Thanx to the board for alerting me to the local car parking providers which have sprung up in recent times, to at least not shaft you compared to the big names strategically placed next to the terminals.
I used the company named above for the quoted price and found them, good value for money, helpful and professional.
Apparently the local planning people are still giving them the runaround re planning etc; whilst the big boys monpolise the parking and cream off the profits.
I believe prices wont be reduced in the larger companies car parks until they begin to get "hurt" by the other providers, time to vote with your cars and money!
PS If they decide to advertise by using cows as moving advertising hoardings, then I am due a significant pay off, due to a massive increase in profits!0
