I guess it depends on how far you've got to travel to the airport. Maybe a minicab would be cheaper compared to car park fees? Or you could call in a favour from a friend or relative and get them to leave you there and pick you up? Or get someone to drive you there in your car then drive your car home again and park it at your door so it looks like there is someone around? What about public transport (not joking, though you might want to murder me if you actually took up this suggestion...).

I don't think it'd be wise parking at Tesco - I should imagine Sprucefield and that Tesco at the top of the road from the airport are on the look out for cars parked for longer than a normal shopping trip. Imagine how you'd feel if they had it towed because they couldn't find the owner - while their car parks are open to the public they are still private property.

You might get lucky with someone renting their drive for 9 days - stick an ad in the Tele...nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Thanks snowy, travelling from Stroke City, so Taxi out of the question, just investigated BCA car parks and for 9 days it will cost me £37 which is not too bad I suppose, shame they have no competition there unlike Aldergrove. I suppose land for a private carpark around the city airport is at a premium, as opposed to land near Aldergrove. Must put in a bid for the new Titanic Quarter developement, build a big carpark and a direct link to BCA, anyone lend me a few Million :rotfl:
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Thought of that M8 but for me, the missus, 2 kids a buggy, a travel cot and all our luggage, think its cheaper and less hassle to take the car, although I have used airporter before when travelling myself and its a very good reliable service

Getting back on topic, friends of mine are just back from holiday. They used Easypark and couldn't speak highly enough of the service. They have about 10 acres of land and are making an absolute fortune - somedays close to £1000. Good luck to them I say.

I hope I am posting this query in the right place (I am fairly new to this site, so please forgive me if I am wrong!!).

Anyway, I returned from a two week holiday in Majorca earlier today and picked up my car at one of the car parks close to the international airport - not the official airport car park. A few hours after we returned home, my wife was in the driveway and noticed a dent and scrape on the rear passenger side wing. Have I any comeback, given that I paid almost £50 for the privilege of parking close to the airport? I thought it would be pointless phoning the place this evening, as only night staff would be on duty.

    Any advice gratefully appreciated.

Take pictures of the damage and contact the carpark in the morning. I'm not sure how you would stand on this one, they could argue that you leave it at your own risk. Might be worth contacting your local citizens Advice centre to see if they can give you some pointers.

HTH and let us know how you get on!

    Thanks for the quick response.

I agree with your point about leaving the car at my own risk and there is also the issue of proving that the car wasn't already damaged before I left it. I will contact CAB before telephonig the car park operator in the morning.
