The courtasy bus from the Celebration was a bit decripid - we got it on the 1st day but on the 2nd day witnessed the driver giving the tail light a good whack to make it turn on and decided that we wold get the Lynx!!
The Lynx Bus took 10 minutes...... the courtesy shuttle bus took an hour as it went to loads of other hotels as well!! we was the only people that went to Universal so they gave us a cab instead of the bus and we tipped the driver instead!! Bargain!!
However, there are hardly any paths, everyone else drives and just gives you odd looks, LOL. We got off one bus into a bush, I LOL thinking about it now!!
And get the bus to Wal*mart and a cab back..... way too much cheap shopping!!0 -
helping_hubby, he reason I suggested the change was because the menu and food gets abit grim after.... 3 days, LOL!! Plus OP could do basic one week and then 'posh' the next. There are some good offers, some hotels on Expedia have 40% off at the moment so it is a case of catching the right deal. As I say, I looked at AK the other day and it was priced at £168 a night, yet I've just seen now that it is £118 per night - this is a luxury resort so the prices are coming down so OP could do AK for the first week and do all of disney with the free transport and then go somewhere on Int Drive the 2nd week and be better locaed for all the other theme parks for around £300 - still well within budget.
There is a shuttle bush to Bushe gardens from Seaworld each day too.
PS. Is here room for me in your suitcase, I would sooooooo love to go back.

That's a really good idea actually. That's something I'll think about doing next time we go back. I love disney but there really are only so many burgers one can take, although their bacon burger was delicious. Also the breakfasts were lovely. And they do a good deal on the drinks...in the hotel resorts you buy a mug for, well it was $11 when I was there, and it's free refills for the entire 2 weeks, bargain
I'm really craving a bacon burger now! 0 -

I forgot to ask Do I need to apply for a USA visa I am a british citizen so I was just wondering. I just found a good deal 1999 on the dot with insurance 3 star hotel embassy suite hotel north ,king suite, flight on virgin atlanitic from heathrow doesn't seem bad, but the only thing is that disney is 22 miles away and universel is 15miles hmm that mite be far not too concerned but I wana go disney lol, but also this hotel is good for honeymoons abit of silence0 -
Hiya,
You fill in the forms on the form on the plane if you have a UK passport (unless it has changed since last year). TBH, you'll get a much better deal than that - tell me when you want to travel and I will have a look for you. I could look for hours - even if it is not for me
That hotel is in the middle of nowhere and you'll end up travelling a lot, plus it is a suite so you'll not get a lot of extras with that.
let me know when you want to go date wise and let me give you some options that are nearer. You can get good deals on Insurance with tesco (or elsewhere if not collecting the points) but don;t book a 'package' you will pay extra for this. If I wanted a 3-4* 14 day holiday for 2 I could get this for less than £1200 and staying on top of disney - you just have to look around.

Ha i know what you mean.
I have stayed in Disney for 2 weeks and by the start of the 2nd week I begged Virgin to move our hotel. They did but this time we went we tried to move to a better hotel and we could not get any help from them. I don't even know why we paid for the rep as we never saw one! Last year we stayed on the 192 and realised we needed a happy medium and stay in Disney one week and do 'all things Disney' as you get the extra magic hours
and the free refills in the hotel (coffee!!) and then move for week 2 and do everything else that week to save on taxi costs.
I do agree with you, burger, burgers and more burger, at least if you are on International Drive you can get a chinese, pizza, better food than on resort - and even if on the post resorts, we stayed in AK for a 'treat' just one night and breakfast was about £16 a head. I nearly fell over but we were seated so the deed was done!! I read this week there is a basic restaurant on the other side and that we went to the very posh table service one. Doh!!0 -
LOL, ahhhhh honeymoons, I forgot you said about that. Most of the hotels will have suites though that are quiet- and you might even get a free upgrade if you tell them
However..... you will be too tired for anything else other than sleeping after doing disney all day so you might want to think about Disney on week 2 and 'ahem' make the most of week one somewhere quiter and less hectic!!...... you think i am joking!!!! I was out most nights before the kids (who were 3 and 4!), they would still be buzzing and I would be snoring, i would wake up and find them both out like a light!!
There is a lot of walking and it really is tiring so you might want to have a think on that. What you have to remember, unless you are in the position to go back again and do the bits you have missed you have to get everything out of the holiday that you want to, for us we had to get as much in as we could and it was exhausting, I think it took a good 2 weeks once back to get rid of the tiredness and jet lag.0 -
